Hello, this is the first time I am using the community section even if I'm in itch.io for years, so extra hello :D
Now let's enter in the issue. This will be long because I've done many tries, I have even asked for help to a friend who studied code and as of now, we still haven't reached a solution.
I have built a couple WebGL games with Unity, and by using the default system (upload zip, project as HTML, play on browser etc), it works fine. However, this default option fits very bad with my page design. I don't really want to have 1 game page for such simple games, and even if this is the case, I wouldn't want them to be in most upper part of the page.
The ideal solution that I was thinking was to be able to embed the very same frame that itchio creates by default into the textbox as HTML code, so I can place it wherever I want in the game page (in my case, very very down after lot of text and images). However, this doesn't work. Let me enumerate the things I have tried.
- I have tried inspecting element and doing copypaste. I have managed to get the window of the game in very small size, but the button to start game is not there, and the resolution (size of the game window) is not applied
- Strangely, the button to start game appear in the game page when turned normal in the edit mode, but in the published page, it shows broken code. My friend cannot explain this too :/
- I've tried the distribute embed option but it's not good because to do this, I need to have the HTML activated and so the WebGL game will appear in the top of the page, and also, the distribute embed version doesn't have the start button game
Any ideas? I just wish I could just get the default HTML itchio version of the game, when you do automatic as in "this game will be played on browser", but have the ability to place that wherever you want in the game page, not only at the top.
Thank you!
