Hello,

I am Karantiin, the developer of game called KARANTIIN and KarantiinVR.
Here i am going to show of my current progress of this little baby project as a blog for itch.io.

It all started in october 2020 with an somewhat weird idea, having played so many games, most of the games do not offer me any enjoyment at all anymore, because not too young anymore.
So i decided to start with a project that i really would like to play as a hardcore gamer growing up while playing PS1
My favourite genre is FPS with some Horror elements to make it more immersive for the experience.

It all started out with an business plan for the project, but the business plan is just for the business itself, the real thing comes from dreams.
I also have a "weakness" when developing a game, the weakness is level design, the most hardest part for me, it is actually so hard for me that i make levels and delete them and then make another one to practice my skills. I've gotten a little better but L o L i am noob, i hope one day to get a proffesional to design the levels, because the level design brings out the real immersion that i want.

As i have played many many games along the way, i took some ideas from the best games that i've played and put them into one little project.
ps: It is not that little as a project, i have invested a lot into it lately.

On 26 January 2021, I posted the first gameplay teaser for YouTube, because then it became somewhat playable:

29. January 2021 I uploaded 2 videos of some weapons for the game, as they didnt get any views i dropped the idea, because it actually takes a long time to make the videos for youtube, so i did not see the point to upload more like these. If i had more followers i would do it more often, because it is fun to show off some of the updates.

After that i continued with the production of the project without posting any updates.

13. March 2021 I uploaded a video on the KarantiinVR that i have been secretly working on. After i got my hands on the Oculus Rift S, i had to play two games i had wanted to play for a long time in VR, first was Fallout4VR and then SkyrimVR. When i got bored of the bugs they had, i decided to try out Half Life: Alyx and Oh Boy I Fell In Love with VR. As most people get motion sickness in VR i had the motion sickness for 15 minutes and then i like could play for 7 hours and didn't feel dizzy at all. (Secret was to sit, not stand)

After i felt that half life: alyx was too much of an demo, i decided to bring the VR Karantiin to life, making it possible to dual wield anything. Also i will make this VR project so it is possible to play it well while sitting. The level design on this video is not good at all, because i did it in like 4 hours just for the video.

I decided to upload a gameplay transitioning from normal FPS game to VR gameplay, thought it was cool idea, here it is:

17.  March 2021 I released another update on a new gamemode for the KARANTIIN, the Wave Mode.
This gamemode will be released as a demo for itch.io when its fully ready, then the fun begins.

It's a mixture of Killing Floor with my own ideas pretty much, but it's so fun.
While making it, I have played it so much already! It's stupid to say but i love it and i hope you guys will love it too when i upload it to here when ready!

btw: gameplay has no level design yet, when i upload it here, it will have some kind of level.

22. March 2021 I uploaded version 2 of the wave mode, it's used mainly for balancing the game.
