Time for love - Polishing a jam project

Time for love is a short romance story which will put your reflex to the test.
It is supposed to be played by two players, maybe lovers (sure the proximity on the keyboard will help,).

(If your are solo, it's not a problem, it will just require more skill to correctly dodge the obstacle along the way)

I am so happy to release this game and to see the final version of it, here on itchio : https://lumbirbwut.itch.io/time-for-love

This project was first a submission for the Trijam#106 which theme was Time is relative.
My idea of the theme was to propose a rythm/reflex based game where two players have to dodge obstacles coming from multiple directions of the screenplay.

The twist being that closer you are from each other, faster are the obstacles BUT you score more points.

You can try this jam version here : https://lumbirbwut.itch.io/time-for-love-jamand see with your eyes all the changes made between the two versions.

I found that the idea was fun and I wanted to explored it a bit more, that's why I take 42 hours more to polish up a bit the project.
Polishing this project aimed to explore the idea of link between two players (that's why initially it plays on a unique keyboard) and transcribed it as much as I can into gameplay features : validation of menu must be done by both players, you can heal the other player, you can make a special link with the other player by pressing simultaneously two specific keys, each player interact during dialog scene (obviously I add a bit of narrative around the project to make it more coherent and immersive).

It's not much, I think I could have explore the idea even more, but I'm quite satisfied the way it is and happy to have finish another project :D

Good luck for yours, and I hope you'll have fun playing it !
