Some hidden horror gems

I don't know if this community allows recommending several games in one post, but here goes nothing. Some quality horror games that were buried under whatever popular youtubers were playing at the time:

D.O.A.S. - Limbo meets SCP. A researcher has to escape a shadowy parallel dimension filled with eldritch creatures and spikes. Mostly spikes.

No Place To Stay - A interactive fiction that uses a dropdown list instead of links. It's a bit strange at first, but it ends up being more efficient that the usual system. It also has some nice background music and an interesting story going on.

Wheel Fear - Being stuck in a wheelchair is already creepy enough wihtout paranormal activity and amnesia. This one relies on an interesting control scheme instead of the usual first-person walking,

Second Soul - A short narrative game. It doesn't have much in terms of gameplay, but the mood and story ( mostly the questions about it ) make it worth checking. Also, best protagonist since the Lodger from Knock-Knock.

ColCon - 2D top-down puzzle game where you explore a building with a more paranormal layout than an Ikea's. It's a demo for a larger game, so the story is incomplete ( for now ).

That's all, hope you enjoy you better enjoy them I had to browse by new to find some of these

Can I ask whether these have jumpscares or not? I love horror, but playing games with jumpscares in them makes my anxiety skyrocket.

It's been a while since I played them, but I don't remember any loud jumpscares. Wheel Fear had a sudden chase scene at some point, but that's it.

Have you tried this one ? https://apophenia-23.itch.io/guaishou
I did this horror game with a team of 5 during a 4 months ending jam from a formation we where at.
And, well, I am not very eager to do intense self promotion, but seen your post and thought it would be okay to share it here. Because I think we did pretty good ^^
I don't know tho, if it counts as hidden enough.
Enjoy !

Yes, I did play it and had a good time with it. I didn't include it since I was focusing on games that were really buried at the time of making the post, like no comments or Youtube videos at all.

Nice !  And it works, it get me to check on D.O.A.S.
