What is this project?
Do you love RPGs? Do you enjoy capturing and summoning a variety of different creatures? Well, I do too! I've always wanted to make my own RPG; specifically, my very own Pokémon-like game! So, a few weeks ago, I finally decided to start work on my dream game. I'm still in fairly early stages of development, and would like to receive as much feedback as possible once I launch a closed beta!
When is it going to be playable?
Unfortunately, since development has just started recently, it will be a few months before a closed beta is released. Also, since this is an RPG / Monster Capturing game, a lot of the fundamental features will need to be completed prior to releasing a beta test. Until then, I will make sure to update this Devlog at least once per week.
What makes it unique?
I aim to blend the best parts of old school Pokémon with the storytelling and humor of games like Undertale and Mother 3. I truly want to create environments for players to explore, as opposed to the routes and towns of Pokémon games. Using my experience with pixel art, I also want to create creatures that players will grow close with and feel attached to. I also want to take as much feedback into consideration as possible! If you have any ideas that you would like to be implemented into the game, just send a quick reply to this post! If something appears to need changing, just let me know!
How do I support this project?
All replies are incredibly motivating, and are also greatly appreciated. I will not be accepting any donations until the project is in a more complete state, and an official trailer is launched. So, what's the best way to support this project? Show your interest in the game and make sure to share it around!
The end!
Thank you for taking the time to read this Devlog, and for supporting the project. As a fun bonus for those who read all the way to the end (or for those who scrolled to the bottom, I suppose) I will show off one of the monsters I recently created! Expect to see a couple of these every week. That being said, I hope you have a great day, and stay safe!
