I am only 14, and I made a good game that I want to monetize. But since I'm 14 I can't get a PayPal account to link to itch.io. This is really frustrating especially because I have a good game that is worth monetizing, BUT I CAN'T DO IT!!!!!!!! I want a way to receive my funds without needing to put tax information on the web, which I don't have. I'm surprised it took 5 FRICKING YEARS AND STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT UP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
In the settings, it is possible to configure payments directly to a bank account. Before you do that, you’d need to familiarise yourself with the payout modes guide. Accepting payments directly means you will be responsible for paying taxes for saled, instead of Itch, which is more complex, and you would be responsible for paying taxes only on income.
At least that’s how it works for adults. For minors, I believe you’d need a legal guardian to accept the money for you. But I’m not a lawyer, make sure to ask a legal guardian for advice.
