Tax information

Hi! I'm a developer from the country of Chile, and I'm a little bit confused with all this taxy taxes thing and I don't want to enter any kind of info if it's not gonna work.

My country does not have any Tax Treaty with the United States (Even the USSR is on that list 0.0), that means I do not have to get any number or document "at the low prize" of this 30% IRS tax?

Do I need something else? I'm making a game, but it's still in the early phases, so I'm not in a hurry.

Hoping everybody has a good day.

I do not have a law degree nor was I ever in your particular situation. But you are selling games through a US company. I could imagine that there are some laws in that country that affect the situation - although I couldn’t say with certainty.

Either ask a Chilenean(?) developer on itch who has been in your situation last year or (better) ask a tax lawyer. When it comes to these kinds of simple everyday services lawyers tend to be far less expensive than most people think and if you’re asking them politely, they might provide you a whole lot of useful information on top of that. Like how you can reduce the taxes you might pay in Chile or what benefits you might be entitled to… :)
