Hi all! Excited to announce I've finished a game music pack focused on combat/battle music. It's full of energetic, orchestral tracks perfect for fighting levels. Check it out- would greatly appreciate any feedback/thoughts.

I’m only writing this because you said you’d appreciate any feedback. If you’d like I’ll delete this post again (within 24 hours - I’m not on itch.io all the time):

  • I wouldn’t want to suggest creating, recording, and editing music was an easy feat. However, when I see soundtrack packs that are asking for just $2 per song I always think: “Those tracks are priced a bit steep for itch. I hope they are really good…” I’m not saying you’re overpricing, but many potential customers on itch who are looking for tracks will be doing so while on the hunt for audio/BGM assets.
  • With that in mind: Please consider adding the license you’re selling your packs under via the (somewhat hidden) “Metadata” tab of your project pages - so customers know how to handle it. There was a case more or less recently where somebody bought an asset pack and basically re-sold it (with very little changes) - presumably because they were too lazy to check what copyright is… You do not want to deal with that kind of stuff. (Not because you wouldn’t win - it’s just laborious and annoying.)

Hi Wechenbetelly,

This feedback is certainly appreciated - I'd say purely positive praise (as nice as it is to receive) is not as useful as a helpful, in-depth critique like this one. So thank you!

I'm new to the game music pack world & still learning what prices are reasonable. I also thought I'd added the metadata- looks like I forgot...

Thanks again for taking the time to share your insights- seriously, these comments are pretty invaluable.

Cheers,

Gillian
