Why does itch.io change my image file names when I upload them to my profile?
Is there a way for me to change the name after uploading the image?

It’s just a guess, but the most probable seem technical reasons and abuse prevention - itch has no capacity to check something as hidden as such filenames for hatespeech, etc.
