My life is in dark theme

(1 edit)

hey, Id appreciate if you checked out mine https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1176700

I just rated and commented on yours, it was pretty cool. I really enjoyed throwing books!

Nice game! I really liked the idea. At first I wasn't really sure how to use the intractable items as I thought I had to press E and then they would do something, so I suggested to clarify how they work as it took a while for me to get the hang of it. I also encountered kind of a cheat to get chaos points as if you carry a book and just walk into a table it gets you the same amount of chaos points as waiting to throw the book, Im not sure if this was intentional. I liked how you could progress in the game and earn greater throw strength and speed. Overall I think its a pretty neat game. Well done.

I like the concept, unfortunately the movement was a bit buggy as sometimes when I pressed the right key and it still wouldnt move. The graphics were really nice tho

I had no idea what I was meant to do. All that really worked for me was grab. You mentioned that you didn't get time to put in a tutorial but you can just write what to do in the description.

Thanks for trying out my game and the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind when i'm remaking it. Yeah the overlapping is pretty annoying, it was my first time making an isometric game and i didn't predict how well the view would work with the actual gameplay.

Thanks for the feedback,I agree that I needs some polishing and lacks some main game design principles. Once the game jam is over I plan on making this a much more solid game. Unfortunately, with my current skill set in the time frame this was all I could get done.

A more relaxed approach on the theme, but I dig it. It's really cool. The game mechanics really set this entry apart from all the other ones. I think you should definitely expand on this. I really like the graphics and audio(though the loop could be longer as mentioned on previous comments). Overall I think this is a pretty unique entry and one of my favorites over all.

Out of the 32 games I have rated I think these are my personal favorites. They're all pretty polished

Office Chaos - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1177392

Total Ethical testing area - https://mbq.itch.io/totally-ethical-testing-arena

This ones pretty unique - Yin - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/rate/1173466

Very nice pixel art. I found it weird how enemies could go past walls. It actually took me a while to realize that I wasn't actually aiming and that it automatically did it for you. Really solid game for one week, its impressive how much you got done.

Yes I would have liked to fix that before uploading the final version, This was my first isometric style game so I ran into some trouble making sure everything was on the right layers. Thanks for playing

I wish, I too have some fake ratings

Really cool and funny idea! I definitely enjoyed playing this one. At first I wasnt sure if it was chaotic enough but as I continued playing the amount of popups proved me wrong. The menu is also a pretty smart idea.

Cool game, took me a while to get used to  the controls but after that I had fun trying to keep as many of them alive as I could. Its pretty hard tho, the red guy literally destroyed all but one of my guys in one shot, so I recommend maybe weakening him or making the main guys more powerful to balance it out a bit more. Not all of the art matched which is understandable as you can only get so much done in a week. Overall I really liked your game.

Interesting game, I'm not sure if its chaotic enough to fit the theme tho. I agree with past comments on perhaps making the different jumps more distinct and memorable. Checkpoints would also be a good addition.

Really solid game! Its very impressive that you made such a polished game in only a week. I only encountered one bug which was during the tutorial, I just randomly disappeared. Im not sure if I died as I had all my hearts but I couldn't restart. The pixel art was very cool! Overall nice job.

While its impressive you made this without a game engine, there are quite a few bugs. The camera movement also feels a bit off. I liked the idea of the game but I wouldn't spend much time playing.

Cool game! I really liked the pixel graphics. The explosions looked really nice. The camera shake was also a nice touch. At first I had some trouble finding the difference between the enemies, projectiles and hearts so I would suggest making them different colours. I wouldnt say that the game mechanics are very creative as I have seen many top down survival type shooters in this game jam so far. To make the game stand out it would have been nice if you added some sort of chaotic twist. But overall I think its a pretty enjoyable game. Nice job

Funny game! One bug I found, the people that are lying on the ground still move which I found a bit weird. Enjoyed playing

Definitely fits the theme and was really fun to play. I found it hard to know where I could walk, as a kept getting stuck, especially on the ramps. I could never survive the lava.

Nice game, Got to wave 6! The graphics and audio were cool. It definitely turns to chaos from wave 4. Just to make the game a little less repetitive, I would suggest varying the trajectory of the orbs a bit more, so that they could hit off the back wall and bounce back making it even more difficult to predict where they will land. But overall really solid game

Pretty fun game, definitely chaos .A lot of features added in just one week, One thing I would suggest is making either the platforms bigger or the jump more controllable as it can be quite hard to land on the rocks. Overall it's pretty cool.

Hey, Id apperciate if you checked mine out

The name of the game is cats, bombs and fireworks. You play as a stray cat who loves creating chaos in the big city. You can pick up items like, well bombs and fireworks and use them to startle civilians. But you have to be careful, if you get too close to animal control you'll get caught.

Really cool game, spent a while playing it which is a good sign. Its a solid game even though it was made only in a week. Nice job

Fun game, I would look in to fine tuning the collisions tho so that you dont get stuck when you walk into them

Thanks!

This is a super fun game.  Probably one of the best games I've played in the game jam so far. I really liked the graphics. I felt like the boss fight could use more intense music. But all round its very polished. Enjoyed playing

It was definitely hard to keep up with the key changes. Interesting idea tho. The art was pretty detailed, its impressive how it was all made in just a week. Nice job

Hi here's mine. Hope you can check it out and provide some feedback

Thanks for playing! Yeah unfortunately you can't hit the guards, I would have liked to implement a way to slow them down.

Funny idea, I would suggest adding different types of angry geese in the future that attack you in different ways. The art was nice especially the fire. I cant say that I would spend that much time playing the game as it gets a bit repetitive

Thanks I appreciate the feedback, I did have some trouble with the shooting and had to swap it to just flinging them infront of you. I definitely would have liked to implement a scoring system thats one aspect my game is missing.

Yeah, i agree with you. I was planning on having the civilians faint after being scared for x amount of time and then once all of them fainted youve won the game, but I kinda ran out of time. Thanks for playing

I gave your game a rate. I thought the balloon control felt realistic and the pencil drawing graphics fit nicely. I gave my full feedback on your submission page.

I really liked your game, it had a simple concept but it was quite addictive! I gave a rate and full feedback comment on your submission page

Solid game! I liked the addition of open tabs and the black and white graphics. At first I was confused on how to start, but once I figured it out it was pretty cool. I couldn't beat it, but it fits the theme, it really felt like chaos.

thanks, I found that the jazzy background music and chaotic screaming fit together nicely

Nice game, I rated and left my feedback on your submission page. The potion throwing was cool!

Nice job on the game! I really enjoyed the animations and graphics. The potion throwing was a nice effect. I just encounter one problem with the knights, they glitched a lot when throwing potions at them but otherwise gameplay was pretty smooth.

Much appreciated
