Thank you very much, I truly appreciate your help and your time.
However, I’ve already checked and the +18 tags are correctly set in English, and everything else is as well.
Also, before uploading the new game or the English version, I had already been waiting around 6 months with my other 3 games that were already there.
But you’re right, I did make some changes recently, so I guess I’ll have to wait another 6 months and see what happens.

Hello, I understand what you’re saying and I really appreciate your help.
The thing is, I already went through this process before. I’ve been waiting for about 4 months for indexing and I followed the guide multiple times. The only thing I recently changed were the tags, as suggested.
That’s why I’m a bit confused, because it feels like I would need to wait several more months again, even though I already did everything before.
Anyway, I will wait another 5 months to reach a total of around 12 months. Maybe by then it will finally be indexed.
Sorry if I caused any inconvenience, and thank you for your time.
Hello, good morning.
Sorry my friend, but honestly I don’t know what else to say.
I already followed all the rules and did everything about 6 months ago. I even made the game free and followed every rule in the guide before contacting a moderator. In the end, I was told to plan accordingly. Only recently I changed the tags as you recommended. To be honest, I had already left this topic behind.
Maybe I misunderstood you, but you told me to insist — but where? I already sent two emails to itch.io support, which is why I included the ticket ID. In both cases I didn’t receive any response. And here on the forum, you already know what I was told 6 months ago, so I’m not sure where I’m supposed to insist.
I have followed all the rules many times, so I really don’t know what else I can do or say because I already did everything.
At this point I just moved on and started bringing traffic from my own social media. It is what it is for me.
Also, I already have a new project and I will keep bringing more, because I enjoy making this type of games in my free time. If there is no indexation for me, then it is what it is, since I already followed all the rules 6 months ago. Maybe it’s just a matter of waiting a year… who knows.
That’s why I made this post again, but I will delete it later — I just want to finish something first.
In the end, I truly hope I’m not bothering you.
Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate it.
Hello itch.io support team,
I would like to follow up regarding the indexation of my games in the platform’s search system.
It has been around 135 days since my last message about this topic, and overall it has been much longer since I first published my projects. Because of this, I would like to know if there is any issue with my games or if they simply will not be indexed.
I understand that indexation is not guaranteed, but I would really appreciate a clear answer so I can know if I did something wrong or if there is any specific reason why my games are not appearing in search results.
I have also avoided sending more messages to not be considered spam, since this is the same ticket (Ticket #322787) where I have already contacted you before.
At this point, I have even completed a second game and released an English version, but I still do not see any indexation, which makes me wonder if there is an issue with my account or my projects.
I truly do not want to bother you; if it is not possible, I understand. My apologies for insisting.
I would really appreciate any clarification or guidance regarding this situation.

hat’s fine, I will ask here again.
But the truth is that I have already been waiting around 4 months for indexation, not just a few weeks. I also feel that even 6 months is too long to wait.
I already contacted support months ago, but I haven’t received a clear solution.
I’m attaching an image of what a moderator responded to me. Honestly, I feel like they might have gotten a bit annoyed with me for asking multiple times, but my intention is only to understand what is happening with my project.
I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me better or let me know if there is any issue with my game or if there’s something else I should do.
Thank you.
Hello, nice to meet you. If you’re talking about indexation inside itch, I’ve actually been contacting them for a long time. After insisting a lot, a moderator told me that itch is not obligated to index my game, and that he already informed the admin. Since then, it’s been over a year, so I didn’t want to keep bothering them, as that seemed to be the final answer — that they are not required to do it, even if everything follows the rules. So, unfortunately, that has been my situation.
Hey, thanks a lot for your advice, I didn’t know that. I already changed the tags.
I decided to make another post anyway because I’ve been here for about a year and a half and my game has never been indexed. From what I understood the last time I asked, it probably won’t be indexed.
Even though the game follows all the rules and requirements for +18 content, I’ve never seen it get any visibility here. Most of my traffic actually comes from my social media and Patreon.
That’s why I thought it would be better to have both a Spanish and an English version, so I can bring my own traffic from outside platforms. I don’t think I’ll get much indexing here.
Just to be clear, I’m not speaking badly about itch.io — it’s actually a very good platform, and I even play games from here. I just don’t really understand what happened in my case. 👍

Hello community, I wanted to ask a question.
I have a game called My Last Trip – Visual Novel H that I finished months ago. The thing is that now I released a new version completely in English.
My question is: can I create a new game page since it is another version of the game, instead of using the same page I already have?
The reason is because my current page is only in Spanish, and I want to have traffic only from English-speaking people, so the page should be in English.
So my question is: if I make another post in English, it wouldn’t count as a duplicate game, right?
Hello, this is Yehshua again. I apologize for bothering you once more, but it has been 36 days since I published my game and one week since I published the lite version without adult content, and it still does not appear in the search engines.
I have already made all possible changes: checked visibility, categories, tags, and shared external links to generate traffic. I created the lite version thinking that, since it has no adult content, it could be indexed faster, but it still does not appear.
According to the official itch.io indexing guide (Getting Indexed
), my game meets all the requirements:
-
It is published as public.
-
It has no restrictions limiting its visibility or search.
-
It has a cover image and downloadable/playable files.
-
I even published a free version without explicit content to ensure indexing would not be affected by NSFW content.
I understand that 15 days ago I was told that the administrators had been notified, but a significant amount of time has already passed and I need a concrete response. This is concerning because I am continuing to create more games, and I want to ensure this does not happen again; I am unsure if this delay is due to my account being new or if there is another technical issue.
Could you please let me know if there is any other way to request help, or if there is anything else I can do to have my game finally indexed?
I really appreciate your attention and patience, but it has already been more than a month and a week, and I need a clear confirmation about whether there is a technical issue or any additional action I should take.
Thank you in advance for your response.
Got it, I understand. Thank you very much for your attention. I suppose all I can do now is wait, there’s nothing else to add. I also won’t write again to the support email for the same issue, as it could be seen as spam. I’ll just wait, even if it takes another month, since it has already been almost a month anyway.
Hello again, I apologize if I’m bothering you.
It has now been approximately 25 days since I changed my project to free following the official guide, and about 10 days since my last message here. The game still does not appear in search or in any category, and it seems it is not indexed anywhere on the site.
Additionally, I sent an email with ticket number (322787), but I have not received any response yet.
I just wanted to kindly ask if there is any update on the review, or if there is anything else I should check or change on my side.
Thank you very much for your time, I truly appreciate it.
Hello again, and thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate that you informed the admins — that already helps a lot.
I just wanted to let you know, very politely, that I have already completed all the steps from the guide and promoted my game on external platforms (Twitter/X, Facebook, Reddit, etc.) as recommended.
In total, it has now been about 15 days since I first published the project:
-
7 days during the paid version (before I knew the adult-index rules), and
-
another 7+ days after switching it to free following the official guide.
I’m not trying to bother anyone — I just wanted to confirm that everything is correct on my side.
Thank you again for your time and for taking the moment to notify the admins.
I really appreciate your help.
“Hello, it’s me again. Seven days have passed and my project is still not indexed, even though I already followed all the rules by setting it to free according to the official guide.
At first I had it set as paid, waited 7 days and it wasn’t indexed. Then I read the guide, switched everything to free and made sure everything was in order, but after another 7 days it is still not indexed.
Could you please help me with this? My ticket number is (322787). I hope I’m not bothering you, but I would really appreciate some assistance, especially because I’m about to finish another project to publish soon, and my first project is still not indexed.”
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
I completely understand — I didn’t realize the weekend could delay the process, so that clarifies a lot.
I’ll wait patiently for the indexing to be reviewed by the admins.
If there’s anything else required from my side, please let me know and I’ll be happy to take care of it.
Thanks again for your assistance and for taking the time to respond! 🙏
Hello leafio, I hope you’re doing well.
I wanted to explain my situation clearly:
When I first published my game as a paid product, I waited 7 days for it to be indexed, because at that time I didn’t know about the rules for adult paid content.
After reading your explanation in this post, I understood that paid adult games cannot be indexed, so I changed my game to completely free to allow the indexing process.
It has now been 3 days since I made it free, but the game still does not appear in search results or in any categories.
Could you please check if the indexing process is still pending, or if there is anything else I need to do?
Thank you very much for your time and for the clear information in this guide.
Hello, how are you? I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
I wanted to explain my situation: a few days ago I published the final version of my game as a paid product. However, since it contains adult content, and as you explained to me here, and as stated in the guide published in this link: https://itch.io/t/5149036/reindexing-adult-nsfw-content
, paid adult games cannot be indexed.
For that reason, I followed all the steps and made the game completely free to allow indexing.
It has now been 3 days since I made this change, but the game still does not appear in searches or in any category. I also sent an email to the same ticket (322787), but I haven’t received a response.
Could you please help me check whether the indexing process is still pending, or if there is anything else I need to do?
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Thanks for the clarification.
Just to confirm before I make changes:
✅ I should keep the same project page,
✅ remove the paid files so only the free demo remains, and
✅ set the project to "No payments / Free" in the Pricing section,
so that the page can be eligible for indexing again, right?
I want to make sure I follow the correct process and avoid any issues or misunderstandings.
Thanks again for your time.
Hi, good morning. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.
Just to make sure I understood correctly:
Adult games that are paid cannot be indexed in the search system.
However, if I upload a free version, even if it’s still adult and properly tagged as NSFW, then it can be indexed.
That’s what I understand from your explanation.
In that case, I will create a new project with a free demo of my game so that version can be indexed and bring traffic, while the full version remains available as paid content.
Thanks again for your time — I’ll stay attentive in case you want to reply.
Hello,
My game has been Public for more than 7 days, but it still does not appear in itch.io search results or browsing pages.
Project link:
People can only find it through direct links (Facebook, Patreon, etc.), but not through the search system (title, tags, or my username).
The game is:
✓ Complete and fully finished (final version)
✓ Visibility set to Public
✓ NSFW navigation enabled
✓ Includes demo and full paid version
I already contacted support and received confirmation.
Ticket ID: **322787**
Could a moderator please check if my page is correctly indexed in the search system, or if I need to adjust something on my side?
Thank you very much 🙏
