Here's the devlog with the instructions! You'll have to type in the itch link provided in the tiny envelope in your physical case first, to attach the game to your itch account, in order to be eligible for claiming the Steam Key. Let me know if you're still having trouble though! I think a few of the early itch codes might be glitching when you try to get an external key.

You can force a blink at the moment by clicking between the 'talk' and 'stand' animations for now!

Apologies, there is some code for the QR generator that is just trying to read a QR for a Creature Code to import a Creature, but isn't actually implemented! I will have it removed in the next patch.

definitely want to do a way to add custom markings! i'll probably go for something like animal crossing's pattern editor over stickers/decals, when i get around to it. feels like that might be much easier to implement and be optimized, as a solo dev haha.

ahhh this is awesome! I'm an organizer for a Texas gamedev nonprofit community that sells physical indie games ( societyofplay.net/zettes ) , I want to print some physical booklets of this and hand them out for free at events we go to unless you have objections :) I've been working on my own guides and resources to make physical indie games so this is great

yeah!!! we've always been frustrated that you can't at least look at people's unused drawings, so besides making a whole web app this is one way to solve for that  while playing haha

can you elaborate a bit more? if you mean like the eyes and eyebrow options, they were an easy inspiration to draw from get a variety of shapes and such in quickly

My plan for after this game is done is to use the "engine" of it to put the characters in different future games I make :)

I do really want to eventually have exports available for vtuber/vrchat/game asset use! It will likely be a content update later rather then for the planned release this year.
