Hello and thank you!

I've been working on the game for about 6 years in total from start to finish, not as a full time job, but rather an on and off hobby. The key piece of advice from me would be to not give up. Take a break, even a longer one if you need it, but come back afterwards. And, if possible, try to have fun. :)

Wow, a very nice recommendation. I enjoyed playing Sokoban back in the day, and Zookoban is a worthy spiritual sequel.

Releasing a demo makes sense when you're either looking for feedback or have something to show which would draw attention to your game. But there are no rules here, you can do whatever you want.

I made an anagram word  game that challenges you to unscramble words from 5 letters to 9 letters, fighting against the clock and other players.

Features:

  • Single player and multiplayer with 18.000+ words across 50+ levels.
  • 8 power-ups to attack and defend and just spice things up.
  • 4 beautiful UI themes crafted with love to match your mood.

Development:

  • Client built in C++ using axmol engine, server built in Go.
  • Communication done via HTTP and Websockets.
  • Server hosted on AWS EC2 m6g.large, together with PostgreSQL, nginx and admin (Laravel) running on the same instance.
  • Using Firebase Auth for authentication.
  • Code hosted on GitHub, deployment via GitHub actions.
