Thank you, Richard. I think I uploaded the wrong build, as that issue had already been corrected. The correct version has been updated now, thank you very much for letting me know.

Etch A Sketch for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum personal computer.

You can download the .TAP to play on your favourite emulator or if you want a true spectrum experience, you can copy it to tape.

https://wizbitgames.itch.io/sinclairsketch

Sinclair Sketch is a ZX Spectrum drawing game inspired by the classic Etch A Sketch from the 1980s. There are no knobs or powder here  it’s all on-screen. You move a cursor around the display and it leaves a line wherever you go, letting you build your own drawings as you play.

It is also a very skilful program. With a bit of practice and planning, you can create clean shapes, detailed patterns, and even full masterpieces by guiding the line exactly where you want it to go.

edit: not live yet as a future update is planned.

Ah Yes  there was a last-minute change, so we have not uploaded it yet. We plan to upload it alongside the WAV file and the other formats

Thankyou very much indeed we appreciate that.

Love seeing physical games still being produced, well done.

Thanks for the comment, Sloanysoft.

We did consider making the bat faster, but kept it slightly slower than the ball to emphasize skill. The focus was on tight bat-and-ball control along the bottom, keeping the bat cantered, and predicting the bounce rather than relying on “hit and hope” gameplay.

We noticed that in many Breakout clones the ball moves so fast that there’s little real skill in choosing the rebound angle. It often comes down to simply making sure the bat collides with the ball. After experimenting, we found that our approach resulted in better overall movement and a more deliberate play style.

If there had been enough memory available, we would have liked to include a power boost as you said, but unfortunately we eventually ran out of memory.

Thanks so much for playing it and letting us know.

Thank you for the brilliant video.

Reaching that level is a great achievement, to be honest the game is tough and unforgiving.

The bat’s speed is intentionally designed to be slightly slower than the ball. The idea was to try something different from the usual Breakout-style clones. Rather than a “hit and hope” bounce, we wanted the gameplay to focus more on ball control and planning the bat’s angle so you can influence how the ball rebounds.

When the timer reaches 0 it starts to deduct score with a ticking timer putting further pressure on the player.

Thanks again for the video, I really loved it.

Thanks for the video demonstrating it, much appreciated.

Thankyou for the video, appreciate that.

Thanks for downloading and taking time to play it on YouTube.
Appreciate it.

Thankyou. I would love to port this to the C64K at some point.
Hopefully one day. Thanks again.

Hi everyone, Happy Christmas.

I have now released a game that I have been working on over the Christmas period for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

It is a fun, accessible title designed for players of all ages, with an emphasis on patience, timing, and strategy.

The game can be written to cassette tape and run on original ZX Spectrum hardware, as well as through modern emulators.

I have also write a small Anti Cheat for this title just for a bit of fun.

Yes, we fixed a rare bug that prevented the door opening when exiting the throne room for a second time.
This only occurred if all magic was collected and not all secrets.

Thanks for the feedback, I am pleased you are enjoying it, I wanted to add many more levels but limited to the spectrum 48k memory :(

We are maybe a few weeks away from launch of a physical cassette that will play on the Spectrum 48k. there will be a limited number available and then the boxed version will follow.

We wanted to create a fun and enjoyable game for all ages, let me your thoughts. The game will also be a direct download, so you can enjoy playing on an emulator if you no longer have your Spectrum.

Locate the coloured keys scattered around the castle to open the matching doors. Behind each door, you will find Magic needed to open the final door and escape the castle. Secrets are hidden within the castle, you must find them and collect them. Once you have all the magic and all the secrets, head to the throne room and activate the final door. You will then be able to free the Princess and break the curse.

Our sample was tested from the publisher and it played flawlessly, so we are ready to go.  We plan to be very active within the community so let us know your feedback.

We have spent the last 2 weeks play testing this on a physical 48k, 128k and 128k+2 and its excellent.
