Really nice game, looks really nice too! i would like some sort of environmental story telling as you go up, could be fun to give the player another focus. We would love it if you could checkout our game Idoling Around

We'll be absolutely GOBSMACKED if you get under 1 minute, and perhaps as a reward you can get a pat on the head?

Hey, This game was really fun. Looks nice for your first game jam game, and congrats on finishing. Would be great if you could test our platformer game Idoling Around:

We’re actually planning a continuation of the game, with some revisions based on the feedback we received during the jam, so hopefully an improved version soon! Really glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much! Really glad you liked the graphics and the cutscene, and I’m especially happy you mentioned the itch page, I put a lot of work into that so that means a lot.

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it and liked the aesthetics. And yeah, I’ll definitely check yours out too, looking forward to it!

Thank you! Really glad you liked the sound, voice work and visuals. That’s fair about the movement, it’s definitely on the harder side. We’ve been getting a bit of feedback about that, so I’ll keep tweaking it to try and make it feel challenging but not overwhelming.

I Am Bread is exactly what we were going for so I’m very happy that came across. We were super happy with how the voice acting and how the game turned out, so that means a lot. Really glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! Really glad you liked the concept and visuals.

Yeah, we’ve had a bit of feedback about the forward vector, it’s honestly something I completely overlooked. I’m currently working on making the idol’s forward vector match the camera’s forward vector, which should make it feel a lot more intuitive!

1:59? That’s one of the fastest times yet, nice work! Yeah, the controls are definitely weird, but glad you got the hang of them in the end and had fun with it.

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the art and music, and happy to hear the controls ended up feeling like a fun challenge.  it was a lot of work in just seven days but I’m really proud of we’ll our team has done, so your comment means a lot! Looking forward to testing your game

Thanks, really appreciate the detailed feedback! I get what you mean about the controls feeling frustrating rather than fair. We’ll definitely research how games like Getting Over It handle that “feel like it’s your fault” moment and try to implement something similar, hopefully it’ll make the jumps feel more satisfying without losing the unpredictability. Really glad you liked the art, music, and theme though!

Thanks! We were really happy with the voice overs, was really fun adding them. Yeah, the physics can be tricky on a trackpad, it’s way nicer with a mouse, but we’ll look into tweaking it for trackpad!

Thanks! Glad you liked the environment. Yeah, I can see how the forward/backward rolling could be confusing, we’ll see about making that a bit clearer.

Thanks! Glad you liked the theme. Yeah We're working on tweaking the controls a bit, but definitely leaning into rage game

I really enjoyed this! loved the art style, i think it fits the theme really nicely! I'd love it if you could check out our game too! good luck in the jam

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the weirdness!

Totally get what you mean about the bouncy room and the verticality, letting you look up more is a good call. As you were posted this I was actually working on adding occlusion culling, just something I overlooked at the end of the jam with all the bug fixing that needed doing 😅. Appreciate the detailed feedback and looking forward to testing your game, looks really interesting from what i've heard!

Glad someone noticed! Yeah i'll let you know when movement has been adjusted

Hi our team of four developers has just finished working on our chaotic little physics-based platformer idoling around, where you play as the idol from indiana jones trying to get back to your pedestal. We would love to see you play it on stream!

Thank you, really appreciate that!

That’s fair about the objective and controls, We'll definitely look at making those clearer. There actually is a jump charge indicator in there already, so that’s good to know it might not be obvious enough (Its next to the timer). I’ll see if I can make it more noticeable/readable.

Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to testing your game!

Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that,  and for the honest feedback too.

That’s totally fair about the jump height and the turning radius. I’ve been tweaking the feel of the movement, so I’ll take another look at both and see if I can make it a bit more forgiving and less punishing in tighter spots. Still really glad you liked the idea and visuals though, that means a lot! looking forward to testing your game too!

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!

Glad you liked it! we are all really proud of it, Glad you got into the flow with it, that feeling is exactly what we were aiming for. 😊

thank you, really glad you liked how it looks!!

That’s totally fair about the jump timing. I actually added coyote time after our playtesting for that exact reason, but it sounds like it might need bumping up a little more. I’ll tweak it and see if I can make it feel a bit more forgiving.

Appreciate you playing and sharing the feedback!

Hi everyone!

We’re a team of four who met during our master’s year in our Games Development course, and we’ve just completed our first game jam project together. Our game is a chaotic, physics-based platformer where you play as a priceless ancient idol navigating  traps and bizarre architecture to try and get back to your pedestal!

It’s been so much fun collaborating on the art style, level design, and bringing our ideas together. We’re really proud of how it turned out, and we’d love for you to play it and let us know what you think. Your feedback would mean a lot to us!

Thanks - Will, Jamie, Emily & Tommy

thanks very much for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this about my game. I’ll definitely have a play around with the camera angle a little to see if that changes anything.

I don't think this was supposed to be possible but i managed to get this score, There was a bug at the end where i carried on after the 8 rounds and just clicked stop and because of my perks they just automatically gave me 2000 points.
