At first I thought it not being turn-based was an issue, but I quickly came to really the speed things operated at. No time to think, there’s an S sprinting at you and he’s got a STAB.

The visuals are great. Simple ASCII with some fantastic effects on top. I loved the environment reacting to events.

The music was simple but appropriate to the style.

I did encounter a bug where I could not longer move downwards after killing two enemies in a vertical hall, but it’s a jam game, so bugs are to be expected.

I’m confused, I’m a little scared, and I don’t know what to do, but honestly, we got a winner.

This is fantastic. The concept is really cool, and the writing works really well to back up the connection between item info and dialogue content. it’s also super creepy but subtle about it, not relying on cheaper options. Little things like the dining table being slightly too big or a room being slightly too long make it feel unsettling in an uncanny valley way.

I think this is a really cool concept I’d love to see more of.

Just wonderful. Literally the only feedback I have is that holding a key down can make things stutter but I’m stretching for this. No real notes.

Honestly though how DO you delete other people’s code? Couldn’t comment it out, delete, clear, etc. don’t work. app.remove_plugin::<MyPlugin>() and variations thereof don’t work.

I really enjoyed this game.

The difficulty ramp is a bit severe, making it quite hard to get to level 2. It’s also a little too easy to get an unbeatable setup with the right combination of 2 or 3 towers.

However, the concept is exceptionally fun, and I could see non-jam version with some balancing changes and more tailored tower interactions being fantastic.

The backgrounds hexagons reacting to events is really cool too, especially when you get towers triggering insanely fast.

This is a game I would play a lot of, even with just a little polish. I think the game really came together for around level 7 (I think?) which was the first time I had to toggle the input off and on to not go bankrupt.

Obviously the draw tool interacting with machines and things like that have been mentioned already and it’s a jam, so there’s always gonna be things you just run out of time for.

I could see a version of this with much bigger, long running levels where you have to change how you’re using material inputs as you unlock new machines being very fun.

Agree with s-azzles about the art, love the sprites, especially the little gun-fighter dude.
