What鈥檚 New in Fruit Box

  • Improved overall game performance

Performance Improvements

We optimized several parts of Fruit Box to make the game run more smoothly.

This update includes:

  • Reduced unnecessary calculations
  • Improved loading and screen transitions
  • Optimized memory usage
  • Reduced frame drops and gameplay stuttering
  • Improved overall game stability

These changes should provide a smoother and more consistent gameplay experience.

Daily Mode Added

Daily Mode is now available in Fruit Box.

In Daily Mode, players can take on a new daily challenge and try to achieve the best possible score.

The mode is designed for short, repeatable sessions, giving players a reason to come back each day and improve their results.

Leaderboards Added

Fruit Box now includes a leaderboard system.

Players can compare their scores with other players and check their position on the leaderboard.

The leaderboard system currently supports the basic ranking features. We may add more features in future updates, such as:

  • Daily Mode leaderboards
  • Personal best records
  • Period-based rankings
  • Additional ranking rewards and features

Thank you for playing Fruit Box!

fruit box gameHi everyone! We made Fruit Box, a fast browser-based number puzzle inspired by the classic apple sum-10 game.

Drag a rectangle around numbered apples that add up to exactly 10, then try to clear all 170 apples before the 120-second timer runs out. It is free to play in your browser, works on desktop and mobile, and needs no account or download.

We'd love to hear your high score. Thanks for checking it out!

Hello everyone!

I鈥檓 starting a devlog for Fruit Box, a small browser puzzle built around one simple idea: making sums to 10 feel more like play than practice.

The original design brief was to create something calm, quick to understand, and satisfying for players of different ages. I wanted a game that could offer a short mental reset while also giving younger players a fun way to practise number combinations within 10.

The rule is simple: drag a rectangle around numbered apples. If every apple inside the rectangle adds up to exactly 10, they disappear and you score a point for each apple cleared.

A round lasts 120 seconds on a 17 x 10 board. Every board is generated with a verified solution, so a perfect 170-point clear is always possible. The interesting part is deciding which groups to remove first: do you take the obvious pairs, save useful numbers for later, or clear a larger rectangle for a bigger score?

Fruit Box is designed to be a relaxed but replayable little challenge. There is no account required, and it currently supports English, Japanese, and Korean.

I鈥檒l use this thread to share future improvements, puzzle-design experiments, and lessons from balancing a game with such a small rule set. I鈥檇 love to hear what combinations you spot first, and whether the 120-second limit feels relaxing or competitive.
