Thanks for commenting! Were glad you enjoyed the experience :)

Yea, I'm surprised we came up with something this simple. I never had a game concept go so smoothly before lol. I think we thought of this in like 2 hours' time. But I'm glad people like it as all of this was mostly intended! And if we had enough time to make the ending, I think the game would have been almost perfect for what it even was.

Was starting to get paranoid from all background sounds haha. The books changing their covers is an interesting mechanic. Didn't find all the books but it was overall pretty cool.

Okay that was odd it runs on Microsoft edge now idk what happened lol

Do you know what Browser I should use to play this? Microsoft Edge and Chrome don't seem to work for me. I get a gray screen on startup but idk if that's just me.

The art is really nice. I really like the dithering effect in the dark areas. And that weird meat floor in the back was pretty cool.

I couldn't figure out what to do after lighting the candle and getting the locket sadly.

But the theme and esthetics are really good here!

Thank you for your feedback! After the Screamology jam is over we plan to finish what is missing. So, if you want to see more come back in a few weeks or so.

There is 3 days left to rate! Let's share our games!

Glad you liked it! If you hit the pillar/obelisk enough times and make it glow you win. After the jam we will add a 2nd map to wrap things up so it feels more complete.

Seems like the game gets stuck on the sensitivity warning in windows build. Unfortunately, I can't play it.

Thanks for playing! We understand that the ending isn't great. We didn't have enough time to add in the 2nd map during the jam sadly. But we plan to add in what's missing within a week or so.

Thanks for the feedback! we will add in some bug fixes today.

Glad you liked it! We will add in some bug fixes today that will fix some of those issues.

There was supposed to be another map after this but we ran out of time. We plan to add it in after the jam though!

I have made a few horror games already; you can view them on my page. If anyone already has a team or would like to make one and needs a scripter, I'd be happy to talk!

I'm fine with 2D or 3D though 2D would be new to me.

Seems like I can't view your page. It requires a password for some reason.

yeeee

Hello! I'm VIPER, and I enjoy making horror games! I have made 2 horror games on itch already through jams. And I'm hoping to find some people to collaborate with on this one. I have only been using itch.io and unity for around 5 months, so I'm still pretty new to it. But before that I spent 4 years in another engine. So, I'm very familiar with designing games and working with teams.

I primarily do programming, UI, and shaders; but I'm happy to help with other stuff too if you need it.

I am most interested in PS1 styled games currently. But I like horror games in general and have no problem working on something else.

Here is my portfolio and the last 2 games I made on itch if you're interested to know:

oh, yea It works with keys, so used to mouse. I was wondering what engine this was from, never opened an RPG Maker file before.

When I run the application on windows I can't press anything on main menu. Nothing interacts with my mouse, can't even exit.

The map is cool, and I like exploring it, and some parts were scary. Though, what I will say is that the UI hurts my eyes. It would be better if it blended with the environment more style wise, and the UI didn't scale so big.

we need someone for PS1 assets. It's a bodycam/VHS game.

I am primarily a programmer, but I have a bit of experience in everything. Looking for others who also like making horror games so we can collaborate now and maybe even on future projects.

This will be my 2nd jam and unity project. I have only been using unity for a few months but I'm proficient enough to get whatever is needed done.

As long as you're willing to put in the time and see the game all the way through I don't really care how inexperienced you are.

Thanks for trying it out!!! I haven't made a real game by myself in years, I usually just program game systems for other people, trying to get back into full Game Dev though. And for it not being that scary, that's noted, didn't have my tester for the last day or 2 and I was running out of time. All the monster stuff was added in on the last day, so it was more of a 2nd thought. But this isn't too bad for my first game on here. Hopefully the next one will be even better, and scarier.

Semi Spoilers, I think you missed a regular ending in the basement. and there are 2 secret endings that are hard to figure out. There is a book on the 2nd floor eluding to what to do for both. For one of them it only happens when IT walks towards you.

Thanks for playing!! Sorry for the bad performance, I'm just going to assume most those issues occur when you have older hardware. For future games I'm considering switching back to URP so more people can play without issue.

I played it a few hours ago, I liked it. The music and art style fit with each other well, and yes, it feels like a complete game. Personally, what I would consider changing a bit though is the very end part with the Golden door. I finally got to the part and looked at it knowing I was going to have to start from the very beginning. If there was something hinting at which squares were right, I completely missed it!

PSX style horror game made for a 11-day game jam.

Try it out here and give feedback if you want:

Note: It may not run well on older hardware.
