A mutual friend of ours asked me to review this game, so I will. It's cute, and I love the idea! Move over, Chex Quest. I'd love to see this taken further!

However, my gameplay experience was, less than smooth. I am on the mac build, with a potato 2012 macbook pro. Some issues I encountered were:

  • The buttons in the menu are hard to click. Is there something up with the bounding boxes?
  • Because the dogs have colliders, they can push me through walls, and I frequently got stuck in the ceiling, walls, or just pushed into the void, where there didn't seem to be a kill volume to respawn me, so I had to quit to menu and then restart. Does Unity do collision layers? That could be helpful in ensuring that the dogs can collide with the wall, but not the player.
  • After death, all of the counters at the bottom go whack, and the health does not reset from 0%, which means that once I respawn, it's a one hit kill for me.
  • The dogs do not seem check (raycast, hit check or whatever) if there is a wall between it and the player, which means if I stand right in front of the first door, the dogs can hit me through the door.
  • After death, the level does not reset- if the first dog makes its way into the room, it remains there when I respawn, and with that one-hit glitch, it makes it very irritating.
  • It's probably just my computer, but it's also quite laggy, and made my laptop a makeshift stovetop. I cannot run a profile on built projects to give you any more info as to what could be wrong.

I hope I wasn't too harsh, or came off too condescending- I do not mean anything by it. Good luck!

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I don't know why.

I  was really weird when I was 15. Sorry folks.

Have you ever wanted to live a fever dream? Have you ever wanted to feel the ripples and shifts in reality as though they were ripples and shift in your own flesh? Have you ever wanted to glitch out on the corner of a staircase? Have you ever wanted to feel the embrace of something you don't understand, something entirely new, yet somehow familiar?

If you have answered yes to any or all of these questions, please play this game, for you will find the answers within, as I have.

Review: The Added gaming peripheral of Realistic Purring Cat Laying on Arm (sold at local pet store, some assembly required) added much to the experience, with seamless integration. The flavor text added much to distracting me from the problems humanity currently faces, such as Global Warming, the Rise of Facism, and Whether or Not One Likes Playstation or Xbox Better. Each time I played, the dungeon looked the same (But who am I to question The Algorithm? Only a knave would do such a foolish thing.) The graphics are moving and visually stunning, quite an accomplishment for -37 bit graphics (Which, when infared was displayed onto the screen, let me see into the cosmic infinite, and thus through time itself) and the music rivalled the cinematic masterpiece Bladerunner 2049. Simply stunning that this could be done by one person.

It was satisfying to complete, and I am now fulfilled in life, and God will finally let me into Heaven after all these years so I may see my beautiful wife again, who was so cruelly taken from me on a cold foggy night in 1963 by a Man Wishing to Collect a Debt. Oh, God, every time I try to leave this cruel place, you keep me here for your own selfish purposes! What is my life to you?! Some plaything?!

I rate it 5/4.57 rolls of tape with spooky eyeball designs printed onto it that have been in a box in the attic (Labelled "Larping Supplies") for the last 7 years.
