Thank you so much for playing, for the incredibly thoughtful review, and especially for being so open about your own personal experience. It really means a lot to me.

To be completely honest with you, my main goal with this game is exactly what you experienced: to make people who are currently in that dark place feel seen and included, and to shed light on a reality that society often treats as a taboo. I am sorry if it was exhausting for you to revisit those feelings, but hearing that the writing felt authentic to someone who has been there is a huge compliment.

And to answer your question: yes! If you make the right choices and guide Amatista well, the story will definitely go to a much more uplifting and hopeful place. She will eventually learn to see the beauty of life outside of her bubble. (And yes, she desperately needs some therapy! hahaha).

Regarding the technical side, I am definitely writing down the idea of the controller vibrating when she bumps into Paula—that is brilliant! Moving to Unity is going to bring huge improvements to the immersion, environmental sound design, and transitions. It will take me more time to rebuild everything from scratch in a new engine, but it will be worth it. And don't worry, the accessibility settings will absolutely be carried over and expanded!

Thank you again for your time, your empathy, and your amazing feedback!

I am definitely taking notes on the environment descriptions and will think about how to adjust them to better fit her state of mind. And regarding the scene where she goes to sleep, I totally see what you mean now. Making her actively struggle to calm her mind and forcing herself to think "whatever happens, happens" (instead of just passively accepting it) would be much more realistic. I will definitely rethink those moments!

About the controller vibration when the phone rings, that is actually something I already had in mind and I absolutely want to integrate it

I'm actually remaking the game in Unity! Ren'Py was great for beginners and it helped me get the game out for the Jam, I realized it has way too many limitations when it comes to customization. So the full version will be running on a brand new engine!

Thank you again for your amazing feedback and for being so invested in Amatista's story. It means the world to me!

Wow... thank you so much for sharing your story with me. Reading your comment truly left me speechless. Knowing that the story I wrote resonated so deeply with your own personal journey is the greatest honor I could ever ask for as the writer and director of this game.

I put a lot of love and respect into writing and portraying Amatista's struggles, and hearing that it touched you in such a major way means the absolute world to me. I am working hard on writing and programming the upcoming chapters, alongside my friend who does the art and Michael who composes the music, and we can't wait for you to experience the rest of her journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for playing and for your beautiful words!

Hahaha, oh my god! Actually, I think that is a problem with the system narrator itself, it happens on any operating system, not just Linux! I am going to look into it and see if I can find a way to stop the narrator from reading the entire error exception out loud. Because right now, if it starts reading a crash log, the only way to make it shut up is to literally restart your whole system! Hahaha. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi! As we just chatted about over on Discord, the web version is now fully fixed and updated!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! We really tried our best to portray the heavy weight, the numbness, and the exhaustion of depression as respectfully and accurately as possible, so reading your words means the world to us. I'm so glad you liked the sketches; our illustrator will be thrilled, and there will definitely be more of them in the upcoming chapters!

We also completely agree with you about the voice acting. Having a real voice actress to convey all that pain and loneliness is our ultimate goal for the full game. The current screen reader is an accessibility feature we implemented so blind players could enjoy the jam version, but professional voice acting is definitely in our future plans. Thanks for playing!

Wow, thank you so much! Hearing that you were trying to play with your eyes closed but just had to open them to look at the game is honestly one of the best compliments we could ever receive. Our artist, MirisTalesArt, poured a lot of love into that scribbled art style, and he will be absolutely thrilled to read your comment. We are so happy you found it beautiful from start to finish!

Thank you so much for playing! We are really glad you liked the scribbled art style and are looking forward to the rest of the story.

Also, thank you for the feedback regarding the controls. That is actually a very good idea! Making the game as comfortable and accessible as possible is our top priority, so we will definitely take your suggestion into account and implement the option to select choices using the Spacebar in our next updates. Thank you for helping us improve the game!

Hi! Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it and are hooked on the story.

Regarding the screen reader getting cut off, I will definitely investigate it. It is a bit strange because the game actually uses your device's built-in system narrator rather than a custom game voice, but I will look into what might be causing those interruptions in the engine.

I completely understand what you mean about the pings. That feature is actually designed with future real voice acting in mind. Once we have real voice actors for the characters, I will be able to time the audio files perfectly so the ping happens exactly when the dialogue ends. Right now, because the system narrator reads at different speeds depending on the user's OS settings, the game engine can't accurately predict when it finishes reading a line.

For now, we are going to focus on polishing these first few chapters, and then we will continue developing the upcoming ones. You can find all the news and progress updates on our official website!

Thank you so much again for your amazing feedback!

Thank you so much! It really means the world to us that you connected with Amatista's story. We are working hard on the next chapters right now, and any news or updates will be announced on our official website! Since the full game will feature branching paths and 5 different endings, her fate will ultimately depend on the choices you make along the way. We really hope you'll be able to guide her to that happy ending! Thanks for playing!

I am so glad to hear that everything is working perfectly now and that you enjoyed it! Don't worry, the story will definitely continue. We are already working hard on the upcoming chapters, and any news, devlogs, or release dates will be announced on our official website. Thank you so much again for playing, testing, and for your incredible support!

Regarding the spacebar sometimes not working: this happens because in certain scenes, clicking is intentionally disabled until a specific sound effect finishes playing, or there are defined hard pauses in the code. However, I am currently working on an update that will add a toggle in the settings menu. This new option will allow you to enable or disable these forced waits, so you won't have to wait for the pauses or sounds to finish if you prefer to skip through them.

Hi again! Thank you so much for taking the time to report these bugs, this is incredibly helpful! 🙏

I am very happy to let you know that both issues—the untranslated Spanish text (like "ignorar el mensaje") and the white graphics screen/spacebar bug—have been completely fixed in the newly updated version, Alpha 2.1.3, which is already uploaded and ready to download.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience, and I really appreciate your patience and your help in catching these errors. Thank you so much again!

Hello! Regarding the keyboard navigation, are you by any chance playing the web version directly in your browser? If so, web browsers sometimes fail to register keyboard inputs for the game unless it is in fullscreen mode. Try making the game fullscreen (by pressing F11 in Windows) to see if that fixes the keyboard navigation and allows the 'V' key to work to turn on the screen reader.

If you are still having issues, I highly recommend downloading the Windows version, which we have thoroughly tested and should work perfectly with keyboard inputs. (We also have a Mac version available, though we haven't been able to fully test it yet!).

Let me know if this helps or if you need any more assistance!

Good game 😁

Great game!!
