Another banger by JuliusCube

Really sad that the game wasn't able to make it into the jam, because I think it really deserves more eyes upon it! it's a short linear experience with even some humor.

I really liked the main gameplay part, even though I had to restart once or twice. I also like the little ending cutscene tying back into the "loop" theme. Well done!

Very fun! Theming is unique and the music is so good that it doesn't become repetetive, unlike a lot of jam games.

Fun game! Simple but addicting. I never got good enough to see the score loop but I do think it's a fun idea.

Great game you got here! Opening it up the first time, I was really impressed by the polish and visuals! overall the game feels like a full release, definitely not something made in only 4 days.

That being said, I never got past loop 4-5.  As others have said, you very quickly get into unwinnable scenarios due to various things like stations often generating without being able to connect them :/. I also would've loved more visual feedback on the upgrades working (The yellow text when passing by a visited landmark is a good touch, but it could be a little bigger).

Despite all this, I did end up playing way longer than I planned to, aching to see more of the map and actually get going with the upgrade system. I would love to see this game tuned and fully released!

This has to be the best looking game I've played in this Jam so far. It feels truly unique and I could feel the passion behind every pixel. Unfortunately I got stuck about, I think, midway through the level? you had to make a really high ledge that I couldn't reach, even with jumping on the enemy below.  A real shame because I would have loved to see the ending :(

Still though, very cool! I really hope to see more from you guys.

This game was an experience! I think I got to around 81 deaths XD

Cute graphics and a limited but tight control system. Not the first time I've seen a "your corpses become part of the environment" mechanic, but pairing it with a rage platformer was a really good choice, as it made your deaths feel less frustrating.

I do wish there was a way to wipe them all, because I found that they sometimes, especially at the last level,  could really hinder your progress rather then help it.

Nice outro too! really adds to the polished feel of the game :)

This game caught my attention because it looked like a horror game, and I like those! Unfortunately I couldn't get too far. I got past the first loop by getting out, but after that I couldn't really figure out what to do. This coupled with the look sensitivity being incredibly low, I had to stop there.

I did get on the roof though using the laptop! does that count?

Thank you! I'm very glad to hear the style helped as that was the intention!

lovely style and great gameplay idea! I would've liked something small to defend myself at the beginning, just so I don't have to walk around all the time, but I enjoyed playing it.

This is the best game ever made

thanks for the feedback!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I learned a lot making this game, so thank you for the opportunity.

Some known bugs:

- You can get stuck between the plank and palettes in the middle, so stay clear! You can get out by pouncing on an enemy if it gets close enough.

- Sometimes the second spawn point can too crowded and enemies can't leave. only fix is to respawn, or ignore it and enjoy your much easier game.

Cool arstyle and impressive that you made this in such a short amount of time. One thing tho; when I died and respawned once, the camera kept spinning around making it very hard to play. Other than that it's a very solid entry!

surprisingly fun to play, and a lot of levels too! Personally I find the lose condition a little too punishing, but overall well done!

Short but sweet! A damn shame you guys had trouble during the jam. Best of luck!

This is pretty fun! The main mechanic is interesting though a little hard, especially with how quick the meter resets after you fill it a bit. I also like some of the enviromental details like the car tires changing with the direction you drive in and the crops being trampled when your car passes over them. Good job!

Wow. what an amazing submission.
The visuals work to create a moody and unique atmosphere that I haven't seen in any submission so far. This works together with the music to really contrast the two phases, which is very in-theme! The main gameplay loop is simple but effective, and I found myself wanting to explore more of the world and find different types of fish.

I really hope this game gets more recognition, because you all deserve it. Well done!

This is pretty interesting! I like the initial idea, and the main mechanic is implemented pretty well. the only thing I didn't like was the camera; it feels too slow and clunky for a game like this. I also got my frog's limbs stuck on the stairs a lot, but I'm sure that's part of the intended difficulty XD.

This is a pretty fun game! very impressive how you managed to make it in a week, and the theme interpretation is spot on!

Thank you for replaying and giving your honest feedback once again! I'll be experimenting with introducing the recall pads earlier (first or second level) and giving more control over the wheel of elements is a good idea.

I won't be updating the game until the windows release sometime early september, but be sure that I'll patch the things you brought up!

Thanks for the feedback! And yes all assets were custom made for this jam :)

Thank you so much for the in-depth review and kind words! Your feedback has certainly been noted and will help improve the game. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Got it, I'll try and fix that in the next update. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I totally get the frustrations of how some of the systems and puzzles work, I already have an update queued to adress most of those. I'm glad you managed to complete the game regardless! One question tho, there's supposed to be dialogue from the NPC on the purple flame level explaining the recall pads that allow you to recall your torch, did the dialogue not trigger for you, or did the pad itself not work?

This games art style is great, and I think it's genius to use a glass bottle as the characters head to lighten the workload and sprites needed. I feel like the effects of the potions could be explained at least a little before you use them, especially since their use is limited. Great work!

Thx snow!

Yeah this game should just win by default because it genuinely made me tear up at the end. very well done!

Despite the visuals being primitive, there's just something about the main game loop that keeps you playing. The upgrades felt substancial and becoming more and more powerful was genuinely addicting. Well made!

great soup! I like the artstyle and the main mechanics are inventive and show a lot of promise. only thing I could say as "critisism" was that dragging the ghosts to the pot every time was a little exhausting, maybe doubleclicking could work as a secondary input. Good work!

This is a pretty cute game, and very distinct from the usual submissions for this jam. Good job!

I like this! the mechanics are interesting and the graphics are very good, especially for havig been made in 2 weeks. I will say I sometimes had an issue of enemies being obscured by level geometry.

this is a really solid experience! the mechanics work well, and I like the little detail of the "main menu" being a physical level you walk around in. Only complaint I have is that there aren't more levels. very good work!

Hey this is a pretty good concept! I think the voxel style is neat and the destructible-esque environment coupled with an alchemy system can work really well. My only problem is that while playing I barely ended up using the potions, as I rarely felt the need to. There was one level where you had to destroy some boxes to get the stone, and I would've loved to see more like that. still tho for being made in 2 weeks by one person this is very impressive, good work!

this game is awesome! It's really impressive you made this in two weeks, and I like the outer wilds influences. I couldn't complete the game in the time I had, because I feel like the puzzles are a little difficult? I got the waterwheel one no problem, but getting into the library and on the ship I just couldn't figure out. The music is another highlight, and the style is very distinct. great work!

I'm so glad the snail reveal worked, it was a bit hit-or-miss during development. Thank you for the kind words!

I REALLY love the ideas behind these mechanics! interpreting the "shadow" theme as literally shadowing an NPC guide to find out how to serve your customers is genius. The artstyle and music really fits the theme to, and help elevate the lovecraftian setting. I have nothing but praise for this I wish more people would play it!

Also forgot to mention that the cover art is sick AF

Cool artstyle and interesting fighting mechanic! I had a lot of fun trying this game, and the boss battle was tense but not too difficult. only part i really got stuck on was trying to get the golden apple, because I feel like the platforming there is more of a test of endurance rather than skill, but overall well made!

very addictive gameplay loop, and the art is really cute!
