Thanks for playing and for your feedback !
Totally agree with what you said. Reading long tutorial texts is not very appealing in a video game. We have a lot of ideas to improve the game, and the tutorial is definitely something that need to be improved.
We plan on making some kind of tutorial run like you said. Where basically the player would start with a very simple game with very few mechanics to help understand the basics. And as he progress, more and more game elements will be introduced (fog of war, new tiles, new resources/card type, virus card, virus game, etc...). And some much needed quality of life improvements in addition.
Hope you can give our game another try when a new version will drop ! :D
Pro tips for the trick-taking card game ;)
- if the first card being played by a opponent has a higher value than any of yours of the same type, play your lowest value card of any type, as you want to loose as little resources as possible.
- Keep track of the cards being played by your opponents. Any cards in game exist only once, if they're being played, you know you're not gonna see them again
- the more resources you have before starting the card game, the more chances you are to have good cards in your hands
- Have some luck!
Appreciate the comment ! It might not be the most intuitive game but it's not that hard. So make sure to read the tutorials before each different phase of the game. You can reset them in the starting menu, or/and also look at screenshots on the game page. (But we'll definitely makes some QOL updates once the Jam is fully over :p)
Hope this can help and hope you'll give it another shot !
Be careful as this can disqualify your game from the jam
"Also, please do not put links to other builds (such as "Game jam upload has a bug! Please play this one!”) in your description or comments. This may see you being disqualified from the jam. Whatever you upload before the jam closes is what people will play and judge."
