WOW! What an amazing submission! 

The character art is really cute and charming , the gameplay loop is really well done, controls feel crisp and the dialog with The Very Tall Man is really fun.  It's really enjoyable to attack the spiders and explore, but having to protect the baby at night discouraged going out and finding the Grim Roots. It's a really fun mechanic that made me consider how far I was going from the house so that I made it back for sunset, but the day felt too short to get any reasonable distance let alone finding the roaming Grim Roots and defeating them.  Also I found the large popups got me hit unfairly since it was covering the screen as I was fending of spiders. But outside of those small nitpicks, the game is really great!

Thanks for playing! The farming was locked behind the shopkeeper which I badly programmed in. Yeah there wasn't really any goals since I originally though that just having a sandbox would be good enough, however it's not. Thanks for bringing that up! Also I hoping to develop the game more so that there are more sound and music as well as general clarifications. Thanks again for the feedback :3 

Thanks for playing! I definitely did not use the 30 limit to it's best and I just rushed it at the end of the month deadline. There was code in there to prevent slimes from spawning in walls, but It didn't work. I am going to release a more full-fledged version of Magecraft, but I am restricted by the pico-8 token limit. Thanks again!

Happy you liked it! The lack of breathing room between times of day was definitely a big oopsie. There was a lot that I wanted to add in, but just didn't use my time properly. I'm actually working on a better version of the game right now so that it's more clear and have more content.

Thanks for the feedback! This is the first time I've ever made enemy pathfinding so It is definitely really predictable. I slapped in the day/night cycle last minute so I didn't really have time to realize how fast it was. Also, I was planning on doing a death by day break mechanic for the slimes, but I ran out of time. Thanks for playing though!

Sorry about the high spawn rates, I implemented the spawning mechanics last minute and didn't realize how bad it really was.  The slime was meant to act as a currency for the shopkeeper, but I didn't make it clear in game. And worse, the main farming mechanics were only accessible through the trader. I really like that slime pet idea and might be added it to a more finished version of the game I'm making outside the jam. Also thanks for the bug catch!

Thanks a lot for playing! I mismanaged my time during the jam and I really had to slap everything in last minute so the farming was just place then grow.

Hey thanks for playing my game and giving me feedback!  A lot of the farming mechanics where there however they were lock behind the badly programmed shopkeeper and even then, it was pretty rudimentary. I didn't test spawning mechanics enough so that's  why the slimes were spawning in some much and the fast day/night cycle. The summary screen wasn't link to a timer so when you press X it brought you instantly back into the game. Thanks again for the feedback and I hope you still had fun playing! :D

The game is awesome! The tutorial is really appreciated and the funny dialogue and voice acting  made this game stand out. The crafting system and farming are really user friendly. Although, there were two small problems. 

1. When every you pressed the up arrow key, you would fly akin to  minecraft creative mode. I think it was a dev tool left in by accident, but it didn't really effect  gameplay much.

2. When breaking structures like a wall or floor, it would delete the surrounding as well which caused frustration.

Outside of that the game is outstanding!

Really fun game. The art and music are amazing. The mechanic of clean muck with plant is genius and really enjoyable. However the slow walking speed was annoying when trying to find all three dragons.  Also the fire plant was a bit under powered compare to the earth and water seeds, but beside that the game is great. Keep up the good work!

Art and music is really well done! Gameplay fits very well with theme and is extremely polished.

I really like the visuals of the game and even though it's unfinished, it's pretty fun to just walk around pushing snails!

It's a really interesting story. I found a graphical glitch when after the time jump, the bearded characters will switch back to them without their beards at certain points. Still a fun game though. Hope to see more from you guys.
