Late, but I'm actually glad you talked not turning of your antivirus , to get itch to work. Because that's the main thing Google recommends you to do

And sure, if you're using some obscure antivirus, then maybe that'll help? But if you're using a common one, or the one that comes built in. Then don't, unless you tried absolutely everything else

And what worked for me, was simply opening the app, then closing it from Task Manager (honestly not sure why, but it worked)

I actually do enjoy most of it ^-^

And while I do like stories with good ends. Where the hero saves the day and everyone lives happily ever after. I do really like stories with bad ends. And sometimes, I find bad ends to be more enjoyable than the good endings

Like...This game. Like sure, in the good end. Mezz defeats Kahzeem, and gets the disc that could, help people? (Sorry, it's honestly been awhile, since I started the game from the beginning) But, there's no real garuntees (I'm assuming). And Mezz didn't really save the gutter. Just replaced one big bad with another

But at least in Kahzeem's end. He doesn't have to worry about that. He gets to enjoy life in a nice(ish) place, and doesn't have to worry about saving the world. He can just enjoy life. Sure, he'll die sooner. And he's not, "all there". But at least he can live the rest of his life in ecstasy

I'm assuming it's ok to talk about spoilers on this post? Um, I'll still leave it at the end, though

While I honestly prefer the, gameplay? of the club more, I do honestly prefer the street wear outfit. I mean, yeah. just look at 'im. He's really cute in it, and I honestly wish he kept it

Spoiler part

I know Kahzeem is probably more evil than Mahir (maybe...Idk). But I honestly prefer Kahzeem's end

Like, ok sure. Mezz is basically Kahzee's personal, fuck toy, in that ending. But at least he can still move by himself, and is like, alive

But in Mahir's end. Mezz is it kept in storage, basically on life support, until Mahir decides to use him. And the last part, honestly made me uncomfortable

I know both options aren't good. But to me, Kahzeem's end, seems like the lesser of two evils

I don't really like replacing stuff that still works, which is why I still have my old laptop (I did finally replace the internal HDD with a SSD last month, though). And I just generally prefer laptops (despite using them at a desk...)

Anyways, that workaround does actually work! There's brief moments of lag, but other than that. Characters don't move like they're in a slideshow anymore. Also, I'm used to games looking like crap, for the sake of performance. So I don't mind

And right, gameplay. That explains it (and I guess Mezz mentioned going to the alleys, because he didn't want want to do the other way)

And , ok. Thanks for explaining it

I did, something like. I opened itch, hit retry (just to see if would work), then closed it via task manager (I have it saved to my task bar). And, it works now? Itch even shows up in the hidden icons section now (before it wouldn't)

Ok...

1. I'm just trying to open the itch app on my laptop. The errors I get are

"There was a problem during setup: Timed out while connecting to butlerd"

Honestly can't remember the other one, but i t included butler 15. something (after I turned off my antivirus)

2. Turning off antivirus, was one of the main suggestions I saw, while trying to Google this

3. I don't remember mentioning games? The install, is referring to the itch app. And I mentioned butler, because that's what the error message mentions

4. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ When I was googling this, someone on reddit said clearing their browser's cache fixed the issue. So I thought I'd try it out

5. Windows Defender Whitelist. D:\Games\Itch.io (D: being my external SSD).

And again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Although, I think it has something to do, with making sure Windows doesn't flag it as a virus, or something

Also, https://itch.io/t/1434666/problem-during-setup-timed-out-while-connecting-to-but...

this is one of the many thing that pop up, while I was trying to fix this issue, and why I turned off my antivirus

Two, problems? I guess?

1. I, know what I'm supposed to do, don't know how I'm supposed to do it. Basically. I need 10,00 (1,000?) Credits, so Rivera will let me through

But the Dobermans shake their heads, Mezz refuses to go to the bar, and going to the left alley. Is basically regular gameplay (like I don't need the credits)

2. Game runs at like, maybe 2fps for me, when I'm in an outside area. The game is still playable, but everyone moves really slowly. And interacting with stuff or continuing dialogue, tends to take a few tries

My laptop is low-end (HP 2000 Notebook), but it usually doesn't struggle with RPG Maker games (unless their MV)

I'm not sure if this problem can be fixed. And again, the game is playable. Just slow (like, it takes a few seconds for a character to move one step)

I tried redoing the setup, downloading a new install off the site, adding both the main folder and the main app itself to my whitelist, restarting my laptop, deleting my browser's cache. And yes, turning my antivirus off. Nothing works

Just wondering, but aside from a couple of scenes, how exactly is this an NSFW game? I'm (according to itch) 3 hours into the game. And the only real NSFW stuff, was some dialogue (and a, I guess technically? Censored scene)

No like, major story spoilers please. And I'm on Dallan's route (really wanted, Therium's? "Cause...His Shard, and definitely nothing else. But it's not out yet)

The tree trunk area you go to in mini quest, two? Is running at like, 1 frame per second for me (specifically, the area(s) where the lights are out). My laptop is, really old. But the rest of the game runs perfectly fine for me, save for some slowdown during dialogue

I can technically still play the game, but it's really slow. And basically impossible, to avoid at least the first light
