I chatted with Seren about this game recently on Five Minutes, Not 5e! It was an absolute pleasure to chat with them about it, and the game sounds like a great time!

I made a huge compilation of useful links a while back that might be useful! Equally, if you know any resources you think I should add, I'm always looking to expand it!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you had a good time playing! You're absolutely right, it should be tables 5 & 6, not 7 & 8.
I'll have a look and see if I can work out a way to move the Resolve maximum table - I would definitely prefer to keep flipping back and forth through the game to a minimum. If the first prompt on a climb phase is an obstacle, it serves 2 functions - first in determining the weather/temperature and obviously as an obstacle. This particular use-case is why there's a "No card" table on the Obstacles page - there's no card before it to base the effect on.
Thanks a tonne for letting me know about your experience with the game, and congratualtions on reaching the Summit!
I've shouted about it elsewhere but I love this game. It's the perfect blend of theming and mechanics, with a lovely push pull of options - I can use this hard-to-obtain resource to great effect - but only by limiting my options elsewhere.
This has been on my list of games to get to table for a long time, I just need to find the right group for it.
Also I may have made a class for it...
That's fantastic to hear, glad you enjoyed it! Had a read through of the other games you looked at, as well as yours. What a great selection of games came out of this jam! Absolutely love making games to limitations, it really forces creativity in all the best ways. I look forward to seeing what else you make!
Thanks for the kind words! I can definitely see an alternate version of this that incorporates an "escape the maze" style of play, though with a 200-word limit I instead opted for a tragic no-win scenario.
If you like this one (and aren't put off by the impossibility of winning), may I recommend the other game I've made inspired by Greek myths, The Boulder?
Hi all!
- My name's Daniel (he/they)
- I can never settle on a favourite system, though I'm enjoying messing around with exploding dice systems lately
- This is my first year participating in the jam, though I've made a few one-page adventures and one one-page game before
- I want to try making something (or multiple somethings) that avoid standard resolution mechanics -- it feels like it will be a fun challenge (already made one so far in the jam, maybe a second, we'll see)
I realise I never posted here to let you know! Massive fan of the simplicity and elegance of the system! Made a game using it for Free RPG Day called The Curse Lingers! Thank you so much for your amazing work!
It really speaks to the design of your system that I decided to create the game a week before and was able to complete the game (including formatting and additional mechanics) before Free RPG Day!
(I'd love to send you a code to the game, as a thank you for your work, as I increased the price following Free RPG Day. Send me a message however works best for you if you'd be interested!)
