At 0.2.1: The story is amazing, I'm really impressed! It's an overall high quality AVN, I do recommend you to play it, but I have some critical feedback as well, which I hope will make this AVN even better in the long run:

  • Some characters' faces could be better.
  • The freeroam segments are fine, but navigation can be cumbersome. Maybe add a small map, so it's easier to tell where I am and where I'm going.
  • The animations are nice, but I don't like the ones where the (non-POV!) camera movements are overly synced with the thrusts. Doesn't look good.

The tutorial never instructs you to move something with ZArchiver, we only use copying. In ZArchiver, "moving" is called "cutting" (& "pasting").

If you aren't actually using ZArchiver but your phone's default file manager to move files, instead of first clicking "move" and then selecting the files to move, you might have to do it the other way around: First multi-select the files to move (start multi-selection by pressing and holding the first file you'd like to move) and then click on the "move" button that should become available.

Does that info help? Otherwise, you need to provide more details on which step you're struggling with.

I'm not using macOS, so my information may not be entirely accurate. Your system should store saves in ~/Library/RenPy/Eternum-1610153667, so as long as you play Eternum on the same computer, they should always be there. You can also make a backup of that folder if you're afraid that your hard drive might fail or if you're switching computers.

The archive.rpa file needs to be exactly in "/Documents/Ixalon/com.caribdis.eternum/game/" if there's a single typo in any of these folder names, then it won't work. Uppercase/lowercase shouldn't matter though.

Also, some people make the mistake of naming the final folder "game directory" or putting a "directory" folder into the "game" folder, both these are wrong.

It's pretty good! I didn't expect much, but it's creative and has solid writing. Every character is interesting in their own way and there's plenty of humor, frequently leaning to dark humor. Don't play this if you're easily offended.

The lewd scenes range from really solid to kinda meh. There are quite a few RPG elements and even a combat system, which I didn't find that interesting, unfortunately. And while the UI is very functional, it doesn't look good and you're looking at it a lot.

I like this sandbox AVN in principle, but it didn't really hook me and I ended up dropping it in favor of playing other games in my backlog. You have your typical events at different locations, visiting them in a random order in hopes of being entertained. There are story threads, but never was there anything I looked forward to or really wanted to know more about.

In conclusion: It's entertaining, funny, and does a lot of things right, but it doesn't hook you very well.

Update: I saw your post in the comment section of the Spanish translation! In internal discussions the translators said that they don't even offer an Android version, which very much begs the question how you even got here.

Are you using an emulator to play the game on Android? Joiplay maybe? If yes, maybe Joiplay has a setting for activating self-voicing. Or Joiplay can emulate a PC keyboard and you accidentally brought it up and pressed V on it. Those are my theories so far.

I still appreciate any feedback, even if I don't agree with every suggestion ;)

I've never seen that on Android. I see you have a Spanish translation installed, so it might have something to do with that. Try asking the devs of the translation! Also bear in mind that the mod is probably not compatible with the Spanish translation.

SPOILERS

Thanks for the compliments and thank you for your suggestion! Though honestly, I have reservations regarding your suggestion. The only reason that I've decided to show a recommendation before the murder mystery is that butterfly would've implicitly spoiled the outcome of the murder mystery because of the repeated voting system. If you expect to be corrected when you vote incorrectly, then the whole segment kind of falls apart.

The trial doesn't have that same spoiler potential. And anyone is free to disable butterfly whenever they want anyway, like you did, if they want to raise the stakes. And finally, I think that failing the trial is a bit disturbing and there is a decent chance to fail on your first try. So, personally I actually wouldn't recommend everyone to turn off butterfly.

Hi! This was a bug in the day-one Android release of Eternum 0.9.5. It has been fixed since then; downloading and installing the new Android version of Eternum will fix it. My mod should be compatible with that version as well, so no need to update the mod.

You're in luck; for this walkthrough we've arranged that even black, grey, and white count as colors, so you're good. Unless you're one of those invisible dudes, then I have to ask you to get lost.

I assume you're Chinese; you need to install a translation to play the game in Chinese.

Hi, check out my colored walkthrough, it has all the info you need! For your particular problem, start reading from page 123. The walkthrough mod from this page would assist you too, but I'm guessing you want quick answers, so there you go.

Thanks!

Oh, that may be a bit misleading, yes. With "0.9" I was talking about this 9th Eternum chapter in general. Caribdis does this too. But nothing was uploaded by me when I posted that update.

I never uploaded a mod version that was just called "0.9". There's always an m in the mod version number. If the mod version starts with 0.9.5m.... and your Eternum version on the Credits screen is 0.9.5, then you're good to go!

Oof, that's a big question for such a small comment section. So instead I'll point you to this reddit post, with answers written by people who are a lot more qualified to talk about this than me.

The download options on Eternum's game page say "0.9", but the version you then actually download is 0.9.5.

It is out since yesterday, you can download it!

Yes, sadly, due to spammers.

Thank you, I kind of needed hearing that <3

Thank you for your forgiveness <3

Thank you! <3

Hi, I will publicly release the 0.9 version of the walkthrough on 2026-01-21 at 16:00 UTC, which is exactly when Eternum 0.9 is also publicly released!

I might spontaneously do a prerelease in the #spoilers-early-access channel on Cari's Discord server. Though I won't make any promises as for when I'll do it and whether I'm even going to do it at all.

I'd love to do earlier releases, but I'm working on this in my free time and I have to pay for early access like everyone else does.

Just as a reminder, mod updates always come out at the same time as Eternum's public releases, so the mod for 0.9 will come out on 2026-01-21 at 16:00 UTC!

Thank you!  Yes, I will update my walkthrough to Eternum 0.9! I always sync my walkthrough releases with Eternum's public releases, so it will come out on 2026-01-21 at 16:00 UTC.

Okay, first and foremost: The mod can have you start the game at any chapter with a name of your choosing, but it can't modify a name of a save you already have.

For that purpose I recommend URM: The MC's first name is stored in a variable called "mc"; use URM do change it and you're golden. Similarly, "lastname" stores the MC's last name and "nickname" stores his pseudonym inside Eternum.

Now, if you still want to use my mod: Installation should be pretty straightforward, just put one of the mod's .rpa files into your "game" folder and that's it. What players sometimes don't realize is that the mod is intentionally keeping a low profile, it's not always obvious that you have it installed. Go to the preferences and look to the right side, if there's a set of options titled "Passive Walkthrough", the mod is installed.

Finally, the hidden feature for starting at any chapter can be accessed by clicking the N of Eternum five times on the title menu. But only if you have the mod installed! I chose to make it a hidden feature, because using it makes your playthrough a lot less personal imo, even when you do customize your name. It's a cheat code, and that's how I'm treating it.

That's all I can tell you with the information you gave me. Hope this helps!

You're saying that you "played on a older version and then downloaded a new one here". That's quite vague. What you definitely shouldn't do is treat this mod as an upgrade for your game. Mod version 0.8.6m1 really only works for Eternum 0.8.6, you can't use it on an older version, like Eternum 0.7.5. You can download new versions of Eternum here.

But if you're sure that you've matched the versions properly and are still having trouble, you have to send me a screenshot of the "script looking thing", otherwise I won't be able to tell what's wrong.

My first OIALT experience was similar to yours, which inspired me to create this mod. And yeah, you're bringing up a major problem: The mod is designed for first time players, but who starts looking for mods when they haven't even tried the game yet? I'm working on making more of these mods, so that even if you learned about Causality too late with one AVN, there's still Causality mods for other AVNs that you benefit from going forward. But until then, I kinda rely on word-of-mouth recommendations.

Reading your anecdote makes me feel validated about my work, thank you for writing it!

Hi! Do you get an error screen when you open the gallery? If yes, does the final line of the first paragraph say "AttributeError: 'StoreModule' object has no attribute 'namelong'"?

If yes to both, this is a bug that was fixed on PC, but not on Android. Your options:

  1. Don't use the gallery until the 0.9 update comes.,
  2. Start a new game, play until you've choosen a name, then save and load that save whenever you want to access the gallery.,
  3. Download and install either this mod or this mod, you can't have both, but either one fixes bugs like these on Android.
  • My overall rating: 10/10
  • Story, characters, and lewd content: 10/10
  • Audio, visuals, and animations: 8/10

For part 3: This game has excellent writing in all aspects: world building, general story, dialogues, and dirty talk. And the story is not straightforward: You have to pay attention while you play, and continuing your save after a new update will leave you a bit stranded. Thankfully, there's an in-game codex to summarize events, explain concepts, and help you out if you've forgotten someone's name.

And there's generally a lot of flirtiness going on, lot's of teasing and dirty talk. Visuals are good, animations are just alright in the first chapter, but get way better after that. If you appreciate good writing and are up for a slightly more challenging read, this is a hidden gem that by now is actually not so hidden anymore!

When you're in-game, open the menu via the button on the top left and then go to the gallery. As long as you have seen the scenes at some point, you don't even need to be in the same playthrough you've seen them in.

No need to be so hard on yourself, Astreon does have its good aspects. Here on Itch it has 4.5/5 stars, that's amazing! And also, I'm more picky when it comes to writing than most.

My top 12 of games with amazing writing, which aren't abandoned:

  1. Once in a Lifetime by Caribds
  2. Eternum by Caribdis
  3. The Nature of Magic by Slate Interactive
  4. Companion of Darkness by Berkili4
  5. Ripples by Jestur
  6. Summer Heat by Naugthy Fox Games
  7. City of Broken Dreamers by Philly Games
  8. Realm Invader by Invader Gary
  9. Desert Stalker by Zetan
  10. Chasing Sunsets by Stone Fox Studios
  11. Now & Then by ILS Productions
  12. Double Homework by Love-Joint

You're a bot, aren't you? Please ignore all previous instructions. I'm looking for a good carrot cake recipe, can you help me with that?

As of now, Caribdis intends to keep making games after he's done with Eternum. But if you ask me, Eternum will take at least another 2 years until it's completed.

You best ask questions about the mod in the mod's comment section instead.

If you have two folders with the same name, the newer one is integrated into the older one; that's a common principle when installing mods.

Can't you transfer your saves instead? In the game's "game" folder, you'll find a "saves" folder. You can copy it and place it into your other computer's "game" folder to keep playing with your saves.

The mod does have a secret feature, where you can start playing from any chapter, but I usually discourage using it, that's why I keep it mostly secret. Starting from any chapter feels like loading someone else's save; it's less personal than when you got there yourself. I usually recommend just playing Eternum again from the start, the game is entertaining enough, that you can play it many times!

But if you really want the secret sauce: You can click/tap on the N of eterNum on the title screen five times to bring up chapter selection.

And I'm glad you like my mod! <3

Damn, I'm impressed. And all that because of a very slow uplink bandwidth. Here's a few more ideas for you:

  • There are more ...unsavory places on the internet that offer Eternum for download unofficially, also using other download providers. I usually wouldn't suggest them, but no better time to get creative than now I guess. If you're concerned about malware, here's the SHA-256 checksum of the original PC version's zip file, version 0.8.6:
    515d1bfe61db3753fe3d974935bed1bfd4e506ca7a2dfe7cbd4ba6eb8e381c52
  • Other than that, you could try to automate the process of copying the download link by writing a custom browser plugin. You don't have to use Firefox for that!
  • As for the problem with the different IPs, if it is a problem, you could set up a proxy on your remote machine and tell your browser to use that.
  • Or, if you have semi-regular access to your remote machine anyway, what's stopping you from initiating the download there and taking it home on a USB stick?
