I really liked the sense of depth — it felt fresh and different! The progression system is also really fun and makes me want to keep playing.

I think it could be even more enjoyable if there were more enemy types in addition to the rocks. Also, when defeating a larger enemy, adding a little more impact — something like a brief hit stop or stronger feedback — could make the victory feel much more satisfying.

I’m going to keep playing and see how far I can get!

Thank you so much for the comment! I’m really happy you enjoyed it!! I’m trying to make the game feel as satisfying and fun to play as possible.

And thank you for the feedback! I’ve now added a close button to the update-history window so new players can dismiss it more easily. Really appreciate you pointing that out!

Elementrix is a free browser-based falling-block roguelite built around chemistry and chain reactions.

Drop elements onto the board, combine them into molecules, level up, and unlock new elements and abilities. What starts as a simple falling-block puzzle gradually turns into a mess of lasers, explosions, bouncing projectiles and huge chain reactions.

I’ve taken inspiration from a lot of games I love: Vampire Survivors for its escalating progression, Breakout and pinball for bouncing projectiles, Bomberman for chain explosions, Gradius for increasingly excessive weapons, and Smash Bros. for the satisfying impact of attacks.

I originally started making Elementrix as a small chemistry game for my son. Then I became increasingly obsessed with lasers, ores, radiation and ridiculous builds, so the educational part quietly became secondary.

You don’t need to know chemistry to play.

Play it here: https://tami-tac.itch.io/elementrix

It’s free to play in the browser and supports touchscreen controls.

I’d especially love feedback on the controls, progression, difficulty, and whether the chain reactions feel satisfying.

Thanks for playing!
