Thank you! I just checked and you are correct. Sorry about that. I should have made sure the problem wasn't on my end first.

Great work on coding a character who can jump! It looks like you've worked really hard on this. I love your art and character design. The code that's spawning the spikes works great!
Functionality wise, it doesn't seem like the score or lives are working correctly.
That said, I feel like it's a great game, and I'm really happy that you submitted it to the competition. I know that it can be nerve-wracking to do things like this, and you should be proud of yourself for putting your game out there. Well done!
This art looks awesome! I wish there was more code or someway to interact with the art. I'd love to know the story behind the characters you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into creating.
I know it takes a lot of bravery to put your art out there, and I'm really happy to have your submission! Maybe next time you can work on adding some code too! I'd be really excited to see you submit again in the next competition.
I can tell that a lot of effort was put into this game. I love the original art and the parallax effect as you move the mouse around the screen.
There are some functionality issues, such as that it's difficult to close the shop once it's open. It would also be cool have some kind of UI element for if the plant needs shade or the heat coil.
You could have added some sound effects. Maybe something when you interacted with the plant, or even just some background music.
That said, this is an awesome project, and you should be really proud of it. I know it takes a lot of bravery to submit your work to a competition. Thanks for a fantastic submission!
The code seems to function as intended. Is there something I'm missing here? There aren't any instructions, so maybe I'm just not playing the game correctly.
There wasn't any music or sound effects. There default sprites and backgrounds were used. The game feels kind of like it was made in a rush.
Next month, you could take your time. Flesh out what you want your game to be like and how you want it to function before you start coding. Think of a good win or lose condition. These kinds of things can make a game fun to play!
That said, I understand that submitting a game to a competition takes a lot of courage. Thank you so much for making your submission, and I truly hope to see more from you in up coming competitions.
The game must be made in the scratch.mit.edu game engine or the https://penguinmod.com game engine. Within the bounds of these game engines, you can make any game you'd like.
Here's the steps for submitting a scratch game in itch.
1. Make sure you have an itch account. The same account can have multiple submissions. Just make sure that different students have worked on each submission.
2. Have the students share their projects and send links of those projects to you.
3. Go to this website. https://packager.turbowarp.org It will allow you to change the scratch game into an HTML game. This way you'll be able to upload it into Itch.
4. Then you can click submit your project, and follow the website from there. This link has some more detailed instructions if you want them.

Hello! You can use this website to make your scratch game into an HTML game. You'll be able to submit it from there.

Sorry for the late response, and let me know if you have any trouble uploading it!
This game is honestly sooo much fun! I will say that when I died, there was no respawn or anyway to end the game besides reloading the page. But when I actually played well, it was fantastic. With more time, you might expand the game to include different maps or different kinds of balls.
oh, and I had no idea what to do with the gun thing? maybe some kind of tutorial or explanation for that could be built into the game.
This game looks beautiful! I love the designs for the characters and the enemies. I love the little pitter patter feet animation. The speed the character moves at feels really good.
I do wish there was a way to see what health the enemies were at. I shot one of them a couple of times, but didn't seem to get close to killing it.
I love the idea for this game. I do feel like sprites aren't very well defined, art wise. Like, I'm not getting enough information when I do have my light shining on different things in order to be able to clearly tell what they are. Also, while the text floating away is a cool effect, I'd love to have some time to actually read the text so I can experience the story.
The sound and level design feel great. The main character is adorable. And the way that light is depicted is absolutely beautiful.
Lots of fun. I love the music and the ants and just the general vibe of this game. It would be nice to see some more variation of colors in the different kinds of ants, and it'd help me determine if I'm actually larger than another ant or not. Also some more kinds of flowers (or at least a rotation in the flower asset) would go a long way. All in all, a fantastic job!
I really like this game! The individual textures feel really great, though sometimes the way they interact with each other feels awkward. I also got a fire guy caught between my gun and me, which I had to reload the game to fix. The music is good, it feels lighthearted and not too repetitive. The background itself also feels a little bland. If you were to expand on this game at all, you might add some stoves or countertops that the player can run around. Otherwise I did feel like I kind of was stuck just running in a circle.
