Hi Jaume! Nice to meet you! This is not directly related with your offer, but I thought you might be interested.

I'm building a small community of translators who are interested in game localization to share useful info regarding the localization industry and collaborate on projects together.

Many of us are English-to-Spanish translators, but any language pair is welcome!

Would you want me to tell you more about the community or invite you to join? :)

Hi everyone! I'm an English-Spanish translator with some experience in game localization, and I'd love to connect with others working in the same field.

Translation work  can be pretty isolating—it's hard to find collaborators, reach out to devs, or even know where to start when you're on your own. So I'm looking to build a small network of fellow translators to:

๐ŸŽฏ Suggest and discuss games that could use localization ๐Ÿค Team up on active projects ๐Ÿ” Help each other find or build translation teams ๐Ÿ’ฌ Share resources, experiences, and general advice

To be clear: this isn't about finding paid work—it's for connecting with colleagues and collaborating on volunteer projects where possible. If you're interested in getting involved or just want to chat about localization, feel free to reply here or reach out through my social media! (I normally reply faster on Discord.)

Just so everyone knows, a user called "Kelvin Perry" has been spamming all posts and flooding this forum with copy-paste messages. I just realized. Please report them and block them, hopefully they will stop doing that.

Yes! Of course! It will be open for as long as it takes (meaning, the offer won't close in the near future lmao) to grow a community where everyone can participate and help each other. I just sent you a friend invite to kelvinperry12. Let me know if you did't receive it, I can find another way to add you.

Yes, of course! I'll tell you what I've got planned. My idea is to create a Discord server for people to share information about prospective translation projects and useful resources for translators. I think I will divide the server into two. There will be some channels for Spanish speaking translators, and also some other communication channels where people from all around the world can communicate in English. I'm also working on a specific category of channels for suggesting translation projects, finding someone to collaborate with, and sharing and looking for resources that might help you with your work.
Would you want me to send you the invitation link? (Idk if you use Discord.)

Yes, of course! My Discord ID is this one [lariidm], but I think you can also send me a friend invite or a message through this link: https://discord.com/users/451357224984641548

Hey David! Nice to meet you! I'm also looking to collaborate with projects and form a translation team. Would you be interested in joining a team and looking for projects together?

Hey! Would you like to team up and collaborate with other translators?

Hey! Would you like to team up and make a small localization team? I am planning on creating a small Discord community for EN-ES translators.

[ OFFER FOR DEVS ]

Hi there! I'm offering my help to small indie devs and studios to translate and localize their games into Latin American Spanish. I've been working on some small projects, all of them visual novels, but I am open to helping you translate any type of game!

TL;DR: I translate/localize indie games (any genre) into Latin American Spanish. Unpaid, volunteer work—reach out if interested!

[ OFFER FOR TRANSLATORS ]

I'm looking to team up with prospective translators or people who are interested in video games and the game localization industry to form a small indie localization team. It doesn't matter where you're from, or if you have previous translation experience—if you are fluent in Spanish and English (other languages are also welcome, though I won't be able to assist you with the translation process), I would be more than happy to partner up with you!

The goal is to build a portfolio, gain hands-on experience working as a team, and gradually take on more challenging projects. If things go well, we could potentially turn the team into a professional localization service in the future.

Keep in mind that this is VOLUNTEER (UNPAID) WORK.

TL;DR: I want to form a volunteer indie localization team. Are you fluent in ES/EN? No experience needed—reach out to collaborate! (PS: Other languages are also welcome!)

[ ABOUT ME ]

I am a university student. I'm very close to finishing my master's degree in translation, so I'd like to branch out into different areas of translation that interest me and gain experience. I've taken many (loads, actually) translation and linguistics courses over the past few years, and I've also been attending some audiovisual translation and localization congresses and workshops in the last couple of months, so I can assist you not only with the translation itself, but also with any issues that may arise during the localization process (preparation of the translation strings and hard-coded text, adapting the format to be compatible with unsupported languages, and game testing and proofreading).

I'm still building my professional experience in game localization, but I'm very interested in the field and enjoy learning by working on real projects.

For fellow translators and newcomers, I'm also happy to share what I've learned about localization workflows and translation strategies while learning from others along the way. I'd love to create a localization team, collaborate, and build something cool together.

TL;DR: Translation university student with some hands-on localization experience. Open to help with translation, game prep, and testing. I'm also happy to help newcomers and collaborate with fellow translators.

Hi Pitou! Congrats on your amazing game! I really love the artwork, and the story is short but really engaging.

Would you be interested in having your game translated into Spanish? I'm a professional translator (currently finishing my degree at university), and Iโ€™m volunteering to help indie developers translate and localize their games.

Sorry for reaching out to you here—I wasn't sure how else to contact you!

Keep up the great work! ๐Ÿ’•

Sure! My discord ID is "lariidm", my nickname on Discord is Sunflower :)

Hi! I think I'm a bit late, but are you still looking for a team? I'm a linguist and translator (English<>Spanish), and I'm new to this world. I don't know if I can be of any help, but it would be really nice to participate :)

Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm a translator and linguist, and I'm looking to venture into the worlds of game development and game localization. My language pair is English<>Spanish. I'd be more than happy to collaborate if I can be of any help :)
