Welcome to Storyfall's first game jam!

Storyfall is a new interactive fiction platform. Think Twine but with free publishing and hosting built-in. Plus we support multiplayer interactive fiction games!

All games have to be created and (at least initially) published on https://storyfall.com and you can find the game jam on itch here and on Storyfall here.

Note that Storyfall is completely free to use, and you are not locked in. No coding knowledge is required. You can export your story as playable HTML and host it wherever you like after the game jam is over, including on itch.io or on your own website.

We're opening this up to all genres and there's no specific theme, you can write about anything you want.

For our first writing contest, we're going to have cash prizes.

First place: $500.

Second place: $250.

Third place: $100.

Reader's choice: $50.

If you would like to help judge stories, please reach out (either via a support request or on the Discord).

Note that in addition to being judged on writing quality, coherence, entertainment value, etc. you can also score additional points for utilizing advanced Storyfall features. For instance, using scene and choice effects, global triggers, tags, dynamic choices, sound effects, theming, and other features of Storyfall's editor will help your submission, as long as usage is appropriate to your story. If your story doesn't need a specific feature, please don't feel the need to force it in.

Hey, yeah by all means you are welcome to start writing and publishing your stories! I also have a Twine import feature. It's still in beta so stories might not be perfectly mapped when you import them, but it should work fairly well.

Feel free to hop onto the Discord too if you want to chat.

Totally fair! Storyfall is an open platform so writers are free to use text-only covers, images they created themselves, or that they generated.

I'm commissioning a paid zombie interactive fiction story to be written on Storyfall, a new choice-based IF authoring and publishing platform I created.

I'm looking for:

• Experience with choice-based interactive fiction
• Ideally something in the zombie genre, but sci-fi, fantasy, or adventure would be considered also

You'd have full creative control over the story, and would retain all credit when publishing on Storyfall. This is a paid commission so you'd get an advance. You'd be writing a pilot or chapter 1 in a story, with the option to expand into additional chapters if it's a good fit.
