Hate to parrot what everyone else said but I do love the match mechanic.
Love the little hand and the overall environment
Would like to see you expand on this concept a little more!
Congrats on the first game!
I think developing a Web Based game is super helpful in a game jam setting.
While I do love the concept of the game and the atmosphere you created there's a lot of things that need some clarity...
Not sure when I'm interacting with something, like I could use the generators to recharge. I want some sound to play when I used it. Maybe even a highlight on the objects?
I would maybe also like a health bar for myself and maybe the enemies.
The regular walk felt very slow and the sprint felt more like speed walking.
Not sure if hiding actually does anything or I'm not patient enough. Seems like the enemies still where just camping my spot lol.
Level design was ok but I was not sure what I was supposed to be doing the whole time... although you did give some clues i.e " I need a pickaxe first" etc.
The use of the flashlight was pretty interesting as I get scared by the random zombie miners(?)
Again sorry to be nitpicky about a lot of things but i do see a lot of potential in this game... I'm sure if you had more time you could really polish this idea and expand on it.
F* you and your jumpscares! :P
Also I'm sooo jealous of how you did the lighting, sfx etc. Really smashed it out of the park with the environment design.... I forgot I was playing a game for a sec.
anyone who hasn't played yet. headphones is a 10/10 rec.
I think as others have said corridor is just a tad long but I found myself enjoying the vibes nonetheless.
Excited to see what you create next!
Enjoyed the idea of the gameplay but it definitely was a little buggy when backtracking.
Do enjoy the mix of 2D and 3D. Loved the sound fx of the streamers voice when you hit certain milestones. Really added a lot to the environment!
Auto targeting felt a little weird to me and the bullets moved kinda slow for my liking.
As others have said I like the idea of the health being tied to the Hype meter or something instead of just health... kinda like Ultrakill
Overall solid game. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Was not sure at first what was anomalistic or not but then it became decently evident.
Thanks for including a compendium so I could look back at all the things discovered... really needed in a game like this.
The UI was novel but very clear too!
I Lol'd when I tried to change the settings.
One nitpick.. I wish there was some audio effect on the voice memo. It didn't give me the impression that the voice was coming through a radio or speaker. (Not sure if its eq'ing out the highs and lows leaving the middle in).
Definitely a solid composition. Agree that this is one of the better RPG Maker game for scream jam,
Not a huge fan of RPGs in general but enjoyed the storyline on this one!
SFX where decent too.
Nitpicky (and maybe uninformed opinion) I kinda want some animation on the enemies to mark when they are at half or a third health. I had no real feel for how much damage I was or wasn't doing to the enemies. Maybe even some animation where the character recoil??
Overall polished piece especially for a solo dev.
Agree with a lot of the other comments. Very much a Spyro/ Banjo kinda collectathon with very nice music.
The little sound fx + art style really bring back memories of old n64/ps1 games of the sort.
Dialog was so close to a Conker Bad Fur day but less raunchy.
Nice little mix of puzzles and platforming only gripe would maybe be the camera angles felt weird at some poitns.
Ooo thanks for playing.
The orb was definitely a weird decision and you are on point that it negates a lot of balancing behind the choices.
Ideally, players would use this as a "speedrun" to the good ending which might be antithetical to the game.
Appreciate the in depth feedback.
Looking forward to playing your game!!
Damn I'm so sad..... I got to the final day and needed to restart the generator, which I did. But then I tried to sleep and it gave me the message that "You need to restart generator". Then I couldn't open the door again to exit :[
If theres a video of the ending please send Q_Q.
That aside:
Pros:
Intro warning screen had amazing visuals and really set the tone.
Strong Transition into the main menu
Main Menu really helped contextualize the story
All the little tid bits of allusions where charming!
Love the changing photo graph on the wall
Amazing auditory cues that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time
Great sound fx and the constant feeling of something is lurking around the corner.
Cons:
Bug towards end of game
Chromatic Aberration effect a little strong so numbers at the bottom where hard to read. Are those 5's or 3'? 8's??
Would love to see more easter eggs, not sure 100% of the story
Overall definitely a scary game. Enjoyed playing till the point that I got. Nice expansion on a simple concept. I think certain visual novels can drag on a little long but this hit the sweet spot. Slightly wish I could type the numbers out with my keypad but that might've taken away from the gameplay. Well made! Especially if this was a solo dev... the impressiveness was on point.
Hello Bytesized!
Thanks for creating this thread.
Would love to see a playthrough of our Psychological Space Horror Game.

One of the better games I've played this jam.... here are my full list of thoughts!
Please take with a grain of salt I realize you only had 7 days (not sure if solo dev).
Pros:
Itch Page designed superbly
Amazing character design + world building. Strong Narrative focus
UI was polished and consistent with the art style of the game.
The contrast between the joyful feel of the art with the heavy choice gave me a heavy dose of horror induced cognitive dissonance.
Small things like the roaches + cats went a long way in making it feel immersive
Title Screen changing at the end.... 10/10 nice touch.
Overall very polished game with sick animations
Cons:
UI moves a little slowly
Music during cut scenes were great but wish there was more during nominal gameplay
Pacing was slow towards the middle.... few more sounds + animations would elevate this to a 5/5 game (currently 4.6 in my book)
Fantastic job! Hoping you create more visual novels with the same level of character design!!!!
Even at a first glance the art is super compelling... the juxtaposition between the cheery and bright colors really put me on edge.
Just downloaded! Expect more feedback on your submission page!

Of course we all want the rate4rate but sometimes honest feedback can be more valuable as we all try to level up our skillset in game jams!

I will play every game that rates our game and give as thorough feedback as possible!
Our teams submission is a Psychological Space Horror Game with a visual twist elicited by in game choices.

Looking forward to spitballing, rating, and sharing new ideas!
Well made game, especially for the time.
Stunning visuals and funny sounds. I wish it had a few more objects and variety of scenery. Maybe a little faster paced and some health bars above enemies would be nice.
As a solo project this is impressive. Would love to see you collaborate with musicians + 3d artists to really bring this game to life!
Thanks for the thoughtful and constructive critique!
I can’t address all the points, but I definitely agree on some things.
Visuals: More careful direction will need to be taken in terms of exposure maximum/minimums
Audio: Definitely have better tracks later, but will be revamping 1st level music. (Hope those have more bounce)
Gameplay: You can sprint faster than the cops (Left Shift) by a value of 2x but it does take some time to ramp up. The first level does not explain that well enough. (Later levels have spaces which are more spacious to outmaneuver).
There is a clear difficulty I had in marrying the ideas of speed, strategy, stealth and the thematic consistency of the environment/story; which you nailed with your feedback.
regardless, appreciate your commitment to being real with game devs early in their journey!
