Beautiful esthetics. The game feels very smooth (I like the camera interpolation).
The music and sound effects are great.
Controls are creative and clever though the grapple would sometimes activate in unexpected moments (when I was still on the wall). The swinging mechanics is also a bit wonky once you get too much momentum.
Also love the warm fireplace at the end to reward my journey.
What a stunning graphics. It took me back in time to games like The Neverhood. How did you create this unique style?
Besides the visuals, the game is atmospheric and engaging from the first seconds of gameplay. I wish there was more puzzles to solve, but for a week-long game jam it's a truly impressive entry.
Very interesting puzzle mechanic. I really enjoyed playing it. Glad I managed to finish it despite getting a little stuck at first.
Really nice and consistent art style. I also like how you introduced new mechanic with each level. Although each mechanic made the gameplay more challenging, it was intuitive enough that it didn't require extra tutorials to understand it.
Great job!
Such a solid platformer. I loved the art and the music and that you managed to wrap the whole game with a story. Really nicely developed areas of the world with each section introducing a new mechanic and challenges.
Very clever idea with the flags as your own checkpoints. But I wish I could recover them, I used them all immediately because I didn't yet grasp what they were for.
Great entry!
Very original idea and nice artwork. Love the ui and the style in which you input the entries.
I think it would help to add some small rewards for the player along the way to engage the player a little more. Otherwise, I didn't seem to get much feedback after describing one monster, so it felt like I have to explore the whole dungeon before being provided with some reward.
Still very impressive entry.
Beautiful art. It's very consistent across the world. Levels are great, especially appreciate the little tutorial at the beginning to get you up and running. The mobs are quite challenging to overcome, which makes the game engaging.. I'm impressed with how much you managed to put together in one week!
What a great mechanic. The double jump reminded me of Soldat which I loved as a teenager. There you could only double jump (with a backflip) when running backwards, so it's similar to propelling yourself with the shotgun in your game.
The game is fun but also gets challenging very quickly. I'd love to have some checkpoints to continue from. Otherwise, when you fall badly you risk having to start from the very beginning.
Audio-wise, great acapella. However, I'd love to experience a proper shotgun sound for extra immersion. You could have different sounds for each barrel and when shooting both barrels at the same time.
Fantastic entry!
I like how so many elements were intertwined into building a very original world of doing business with aliens. You provided great descriptions about the mechanics in the "how to play" section, but I still got quite lost during the gameplay. If you gradually introduced the player into subsections of the game and unlocked more mechanics as the game progresses it could potentially make it easier to grasp things.
I like the style, but unfortunately the fonts were hardly readable for me and there was a bit of overlapping ui (especially during the haggling time) so it was difficult to process the information.
I think that if you improve the font readability and smooth out the learning curve this game has a great potential!
Boy did I chuckle about UFOnlyFans - great idea!
Fun little game. I wasn't sure about controls at first, but then upon playing with the grapple more I found it interesting. The momma shark looked scary! The music was very nice and relaxing.
The cats would bug out by toppling each other on the boat, which actually turned out to be quite hilarious.
One improvement I'd suggest is to prevent the camera from going under the ground when looking up from the island. I was trying to throw cats onto the boat, but it was very difficult as I couldn't see anything once I moved up the camera.
I had a blast playing this one. Visually it's very pleasing and the sounds are great. I love the part where I can jump out of the water. It's both hilarious and epic. Eating divers was also made spot on.
Great entry.
Not sure if you're aware, but the game was occasionally dropping a few frames for me, but nothing major (I played the Linux build btw).
A stunning game with a super creating mechanic. I loved how you created the atmosphere through tight corridors and rocky caves. The world feels very natural and consistent.
Controls-wise, it's very clever. I have to admit it took me a while to realize I could put two hands on one rock at the jump tutorial, but that's probably just me. The game then got really interesting, but also very difficult (maybe a little too much at some places). I also like how you evolved on the gameplay by introducing new types of holds. I reached the part with slippery green holds and then I had to finish playing as it got late, but I definitely enjoyed it until then.
Also, the ambient sounds were really good (and creepy). I wish they happened more often to add to the atmosphere.
Omg, what a piece of art. The style is just amazing and it makes you truly experience and feel the underwater world. I just wish there was some music and audio, they would support the realism of the game. I'm really impressed with this entry, amazing job!
One small thing is that the boss fight felt a little too easy. It was just moving randomly without ever getting close to me.
It's a beautiful game and through its visuals and audio I was immediately immersed in the presented world. The game loop is interesting and the intertwined story elements engaging.
However, sometimes it felt a little frustrating as I didn't fully understand why certain choices turned out one way or the other. It's unclear how strongly my stats affected the outcome of given choices.
Nevertheless this game is spot on with the theme and I think it has a great potential if you extend it with some elements and story progression. Maybe you could do certain upgrades for some currency once you're back from an expedition to better equip your crew for the next adventure.
Thanks! I'd love for it to have a web build, but I decided to use Godot-mono with C# which, I believe, doesn't support web builds in its latest version. I made that decision because I never used Godot before and I wanted to minimize my learning curve by at least using a language I was familiar with.
