A fun read, though the ending really made me want a follow-up. The horror elements of the story were also more on the down-low but I really enjoyed what was there. The ending monologue especially is juicy.

Love the addition of being able to investigate your allies' social network though it did make me wonder. Is there a way to see the portrait for an elector when they're not present?
I'm curious if there's a way to do that since while it's wonderful to have this info on hand it does also make me go "Gosh who was Ozara again?" I'm a lot better at recognizing characters from an image rather than text so if there is a way to see their portrait when they're not present that would be wonderful.
Well at first I experimented and did some tests on which people made good cabinet members and who I could easily get to pledge their votes to me.
I didn't train knowledge skills at all and left that to my cabinet (No nepobabies allowed). I hired someone early on to be my temporary cabinet member for imperial history with the plan to drop her later on because I knew I could finish her quest easily on a return trip to her sector.
I also grabbed a good science man since turn economy is key and double movement is GOATED.
I kept my two childhood friends on-board for a while but dropped one of them when I found someone with a GOATED skill.
Kxenia is my second GOAT (First is science man) so I had to have her on my team until the end despite her mediocre stats (Not beating the nepotism allegations).
The Star Admiral sadly didn't do much for me given how late I got him though the stats I gained in the process of getting him turned out to be pretty useful in general.
I also blocked some of my opponent's early momentum by recruiting some of the people I noticed they had a tendency to get first.
For my strategy in general I took dead dad's advice to heart.
Focus on developing Zorana's skills and get a cabinet of competent reliable people to pick up the slack elsewhere.
Something strange happened.
When I got the stats for an extra social action on turn 33 it didn't apply to turn 34

I messed around and it turned out that if I got the stats for the extra social action on turn 32 it did apply to turn 33 and 34.

Is this possibly some kind of bug?
Loving the intro.
At the stat screen right now. I'm not sure if it's possible to code in the engine but it's a bit awkward that the only way to unselect a stat that's been selected for training is to go over to the "Select subjects to study this turn" tab. I really instinctively want to like right click or left click on the stat again to remove it from selection.
Also not sure if this has already been tested yet but under the info tab for each stat that describes the different mood bonuses I wonder if it'd improve readability if th text for each mood had the same colour coding in that tab as they do elsewhere in the game. Though that's a very minor thing.
