I’ll take a go on these questions as a solo dev.

1: I’ve been using itch.io since November 2024

2: I first heard about itch.io when making a project about releasing a game.

3: I make games and sometimes play others. I’ve also been toying with the idea of uploading my comics onto the site too.

4: I like to make racing games the most.

5: I feel like the community is doing well enough. I also find do think devlogs are great with keeping up to date on games you’re waiting on.

6: For the comments I read, I reply with utmost care

7: Considering I don’t play many games on itch.io, not really

8: What I like about the itch.io community is how positive it is! Even so much as a single like on one of my posts can make my day!

9: What makes itch.io different is that considering what it takes to upload a game, you never know what you’ll be seeing in the treasure trove of games on the site. And while I never really took part in Game jams, I still think they’re a great idea!

So that’s pretty much what I have to say on this questionnaire. Best of luck on the project!

I currently use GB Studio as I’m accustomed to it’s layout and the games I’m working on feel right at home on the Game Boy Color.

I’m also planning on dabbling with MD Engine as soon as it releases.

Post any questions you have about the game!

Post any questions you have about the game here.

I not 100% certain on what you mean but I programmed the ramps so that the player’s collisions are temporarily disabled and the movement is locked so that no matter where you start before the ramp, you’ll always end up at the same spot.

If you couldn’t get past the title screen, I updated the page to also show the keyboard controls. (Those being the arrow keys, Z and X)

Thanks for your feedback!

I’m wondering if you tried playing the game on browser because unless you want to play offline (or to play Demo 1), you don’t need to download an emulator to play the game.

A new update for the game has been released! https://seanthemii.itch.io/tiramisu-super-duper-star-racing

I’ve been playing the game and it’s been fun! The graphics are good, the music is great and while the gameplay is a bit basic, it’s still fun!

One thing I might suggest adding is the ability to pause the game during the race as while it’s not too big of a problem, it would be nice to have the option. Apart from that, I think the game is great!

Edit: I finally beat the world tour with 27 points.

Thanks for the update! The improvements to the Adventure type scene would be beneficial for the Racing game I’m working on!

This Game proves that you can make a Kart Racing Game in GB Studio! And it gives me a reason to use characters from my comic books I made when I was 7.

Post any bugs you found in the game!

I updated the box art for my game. I also want to show you the NES version of my game as now I’m 60% complete (at least 60% coded)
and while the game is a downgraded Game Boy Color port, at least there is a screensaver mode… with a Burger.

Thanks for your feedback on the game! And while Version 2.0 may take a while, the new tracks have been completed and the only thing left to do are the new racer sprites.

I really enjoyed the demo (despite playing poorly at the game). I'm now inspired to make my own racing game for Game Boy and NES.

Edit: I'm only doing it for Game Boy Color as the game runs too slow on DMG/NES hardware.

I know I'm 2 months late to reply but thank you for the comment. I confess that... I never played a Final Fantasy game before. I only played Earthbound Beginnings/Mother 1 at the time the 2nd demo was released.

I'm currently working on another ROM hack of Super Mario Kart but with the characters from Attack Robot (the game I'm still making). What do you think of the sprites?

Please post bugs and glitches here!

Please tell me which version you played it on and the system you ran it on.

In case you're wondering, I couldn't get the NES version to have any in-game audio

I would like to see what you thought of the game.

(Feed back on Demo 1 is redundant as Demo 2 is out).

A New Juicy Demo of Attack Robot is here which spices up the original formula and adds new features to the mix too!

I've (still) been working on the Attack Robot game and thought the game looks too ugly so I decided to remake the towns and the title screen.

I was originally intending on using a paint program for the box art. The results didn't look good so I decided to hand draw the cover art.

I'm working on an RPG for Game Boy and NES. So far I haven't started the NES version and I'm 70% through the Game Boy version.

I used https://epicedit.stifu.fr/ to make the tracks, palettes and to extract game data,  https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=27208  (YY CHR) to make some of the compressed sprites and  https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/108/ (Tile Layer pro) for the racer sprites. For hacking and hex editing, I used https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=93458 to hack CPU orderings and https://epicedit.stifu.fr/smk_doc/

to edit compressed sprites (this is done easier with an unheadered ROM or a ROM that is 512 kb, or if you made some tracks, 768 kb).

Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!

I'm around 60% complete with my game (full version), and I would like some feedback.

My fourth ROM hack of Super Mario Kart (the other 3 are on https://www.romhacking.net)

This is easily my best ROM hack I made alongside Kool-Aid Kids.
