Hey thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed!

Yes it can be a little annoying when the vehicles sync up like that.
If you are rotating a tile that a vehicle is planning to drive onto, the vehicle’s 3 second timer will reset. Also, if you rotate a tile that a vehicle is on, it will pause its timer until the tile stops rotating. So I believe these are the main cause of them syncing.

I think I would’ve liked to remove the ability of vehicles entering the same tile. Either by crashing or just waiting and causing traffic or something.

oh that is strange, I haven’t heard that from anyone yet.. I play on Windows also. Is that in browser? Or does it happen with the downloaded executable?

Sorry about that!

haha thanks a lot I’m glad you enjoyed it! Level 3 is very tricky :P I believe level 5 was designed specifically for creating those loops. It was more of an experiment for me to see if that could be a cool approach! But I think you get a build up of vehicles too quickly in that level. But the idea is there and I’m glad you had that idea too! :D

The rotation animation was what convinced me to keep going with the jam! Haha

thanks so much! Yeah the roads seem to be confusing alright. The vehicle is deciding which way to face based on the closest direction of the road when it first drives onto a tile (assume there is a road on that tile) thanks again :)

Thanks! Yeah it’s pretty tricky alright. I knew it was difficult but I made all levels available to play. I think with a full game where you are required to unlock levels I would make it a little easier :)

thanks so much! Really appreciate it!

haha! Yeah it is pretty stressful! Glad you enjoyed it!

thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)

thanks a lot! Really glad you enjoyed it!

You know, I wasn’t going to take part in the jam but the rotating tiles was the first thing I did and I was so happy with it I just had to keep going! Haha

Yes it’s a little hard to tell. When a vehicle drives onto a tile, if the tile has a road on it, the car will turn to face the closest road end (if it’s not already facing in a direction of the road!)

Hey, thanks very much! I’m glad you liked it!
And thanks very much for your feedback I really appreciate it! Here’s my thoughts on them:

- so I’m not 100% sure what you mean by your first point, but I think my answer to your second point might answer it.

- the roads actually determine the direction that the vehicle will turn to face when it stops moving. When a vehicle drives onto a grass tile it does not turn. However, when it drives onto a road tile, it will then stop, determine which side of the road is the closest (shortest angle) and then turn to face that way. So if it is already facing the direction of a road, it will not turn. On the other hand, if it drives onto a tile where both angles are equal, then it will randomly choose one. Therefore it’s better to have planned out the tile direction before it drives onto it :)

I understand that wasn’t made very clear. I could’ve tried describing it in the description, or better yet in a tutorial (if I had the time!). I tried designing level 1 so that it would demonstrate this mechanic. The car follows the roads by turning on them, but after about 3 tiles it will turn to face a forest. I guess it wasn’t as clear as I’d hoped :P

- vehicles crashing into each other was actually something I wanted to implement! Especially as if 2 or more vehicles end up on the same tile together it gets very difficult haha!

- yeah, you can move onto the next level regardless. In fact, you can just pause the game and click next level at any point! Haha

I guess I had a few reasons for this. First I thought as it’s a game jam it might be nice to just be able to play all levels easily. Or if you want to replay level 5 at some point for example since there’s no save/load mechanic. My other thought was that some of the levels were quite difficult. And so it’s more of a personal goal to try get full points in a level, as nothing is stopping you from moving on! :)

For a full game I would definitely make the player grind to unlock that next level haha!

thanks again for all the feedback, really appreciate it!

Great game! Really fun idea. took me a few tries to understand what I was doing but I am addicted! Very hard :)

Thanks a lot! yeah, I had big plans in the beginning, but as it got close to the end and there was still no A.I, I had to go with a quick state machine run by a random number generator haha! The idea for the combat by the end was to just have something that has some strategy elements with the potential to be optimized if it was not a game jam game :)

Thank you so much! That's great to hear, I was really happy with how the art turned out! Any time I finished a toy drawing and put it in the player hand, if it made me laugh I knew I had to keep it :P

Thanks very much! I sort of knew that there wouldn't be much gameplay when I was  coming up with the idea initially. So I hoped that the 'mix&match' element was interesting enough, and that the toys smashing together was funny enough that it made up for the lack of gameplay haha!

Thanks! yeah, at first it was just mashing buttons, but decided I wanted a bit of strategy. Unfortunately didn't have enough time to change things too much or add a lot of new elements to it. It's more the idea I was trying to get out :)
And yes, a victory/death screen/animation was also planned. I wanted the loser to dramatically drop their toy and then have the win/lose screen, but again I just didn't get the time.

Thanks! Yeah, it was difficult to find the time to work on it so it was hard to get everything balanced :)

Thanks very much! I was really happy with how the booster pack turned out! :D

Love it. Even better when I found out I can break the flag with my cart. Good job (:

Great game! Definitely fits the theme!

For some reason my initial instinct was to attack the table so I was delighted to see it was destructible! Good job!

Really enjoyed the game.

I love the art and animations! That archer is so cool! Really nice to play and great soundtrack.

I knew I was in trouble when I heard that music in the final level :D

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Hey, thanks a lot! glad you enjoyed it :) I tried a lot of new stuff so I'm really happy I got it all working.

I have a few people to thank for playtesting the game and helping me find a pretty big bug before the deadline! :D

Thanks very much! really appreciate the feedback.
Yeah, I agree. I had made some quick art at the start to just get something in, and was planning to replace them and add some animations but never got back around to it :)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I really like the idea of the mini-games!

Thanks very much, Glad you enjoyed it.
I was considering continuing on with the game after the jam so that's great to hear!
Some visual feedback on hero damage would be a really nice touch!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah I love that idea of the progress bar! It wasn't until I implemented hard difficulty that I noticed how tricky it was to block non-turret enemy bullets while still letting your hero shoot back at them. That would be a really nice feature to improve that.
