i dont know if this would be a good place to post this, but i have two ideas for a vn i could make for this jam and i dont know which one to choose.
1. an alien visits earth because they heard it was terrible and every1 on there sucks, and they were curious. you play as a human and the alien lowkey falls in love with u. you have to decide to either go with them to their planet or stay (aka romance or not).
2. two girls are dating but one has to move away for a reason they refuse to say. they try to stay together but the relationship gets rougher and is falling apart. you (aka the one who didn't move, dating the one who moved) have to decide if you try to save the relationship or break up.
idk both of these ideas are rough and the alien one might be cooler but harder to do. this is my first visual novel so these may suck ngl
ty for reading and pls tell me which one is better!!
for context my visual novel has like 2 small minigames a day and it's 10-11 days long with 4 endings.
so this sounds kinda like a weird problem but i calculated my word count for the first day of my visual novel and it was only 700 words. i think that's much too short for my project but i don't know how to extend it. i need to make the scope larger because at this rate it will only have like ~8000 words and that's a very short read. i'm worried i'll just add too much filler but i know that i'm barely getting all the points across that i want my game to portray. should i just rewrite what i have??
edit: most likely adding around 15-16 or 20-21 days i think, realized it was too fast paced for a psychological horror
i'm a solo developer and rn i'm in the stage of visual novel development where i know what i want to happen and the main story, but now i have to actually write it out ToT
i love writing and making this game but it's sooo boring and hard to do right now, and i kinda have to just force myself to keep going
i wanted to know if anyone else experiences this and if u guys have tips for keeping motivation when writing out ur game??
