This might be my favorite game so far!! Amazing work.
To succeed in the Voyage of Greed, you really need to tap into your greedy side and throw all empathy out the window. If you love slaughtering Minecraft villagers in droves, then this game is for you. This represents colonialism at its finest.
The expedition is very tough if you try to go in head on. Encountering too many enemies or towers at once will most certainly spell your doom if you are ill equipped. Farm up resources on some easy islands to start building up your arsenal before you start going in guns blazing. With the projectiles following the player, it's important to pick your battles and utilize the environment around you to break LOS when necessary. Once you get that machine gun and some trusty armor you can turn those idiots into swiss cheese. Just going island to island wiping out any and all signs of life. Are we the baddies??? Absolutely.
This idea and concept you came up with is truly addicting, and I could see it fledging out into something spectacular if you continued to build upon it. Nothing like a game that gives ya a good ole descent into evil experience.
This was an awesome platformer! I especially loved the art style. Progressing through the different levels of the Peak kept it refreshing and made you feel like you were consistently getting closer. The fact that it wasn't terribly long was perfect for this game, as well as the flag respawn mechanic. The experience is accessible and felt very smooth, while also presenting some challenging points throughout the expedition. Well done, Doxus!!
Loved this game!! The art style and gameplay complemented each other very nicely. I found myself invested in the characters and dialogue, doing everything in my power to keep that trust meter up and feed them a steady supply of hemp. Unfortunately they snuffed me out in the end and threatened to gut me in the field!! After all that hemp!!!!
Appreciate you greatly for checking it out!! We ran out of time to get some features implemented that would help build onto the context. We’re aiming to finish up the game beyond this jam contest, so maybe check back later this week to relish in some evil twists 😎
I’m hyped to play and provide my input for Alien Takeover once I get time this week to dive into testing and voting on submissions!
We do have plans beyond the jam to expand it a tad further to encapsulate our full vision! 👀 definitely want to get the kinks worked out and put a bow on it. I’ll also be sure to play Origins of Magic at my earliest opportunity and let you know what I think! Expect some feedback from me by Wednesday at the very latest 👍
This game is sweet, felt like I was blistering through the skies of Nam pulling marines out of the trenches. Unfortunately I caught a few transformations into twisted metal on the side of the mountain with a loaded chopper. Tons of fun and the motion was fluid, but I was horrible at monitoring my fuel gauge

Taking on that long line of ninjas made me feel like I was The Bride taking on the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill. I was in fact the baddest bitch. 💅 Once you get used to the motion of the controls the game is pretty awesome, and the artwork in a massive W. The vampire boss was probably my favorite, and it reminiscent of Mike Tyson's Punch Out the way you would knock bro's teeth out. Funny use of dialogue too, this game was a lot of fun

I was consumed by these critters more times then I could count, but not before I took few with me. Cool game, albeit being pretty difficult. Loved the art style and the sound, it made for a nice harmonious unison. Movement felt a tad clunky to dodge the beasts while attacking but overall great job on this.

Really sick art style and a great foundation. Do you know if you plan on getting around to fixing it? I know you mentioned that you were possibly updating it to fix the trigger points. I got stuck trying to find out who was at the door, but boy was I shakin' in my boots. Hope to see this sucker finished out! Will keep an eye out for updates
I love how you crafted a story that can be so ambiguously interpreted. It really leaves it up to the viewer paint their own narrative with the context clues laid out in the story!

And that creature!!!!! 👀👀👀👀 bro was hungry!! Devoured me whole. Ended up going through all of the endings, and my favorite was definitely when I got lost in the corn with what was lurking, ultimately becoming its prey

The immersion in this game is incredible!!! Seems like a ton of effort was put in and it shows!! Graphics are so clean, I agree with Parallel in the sense that you nailed the PS1 horror vibe.. in the best way possible too. The way you introduced the monsters was well executed and heightened the tension like crazy. Clever way to play into the theme
This game was intense!!! The Editor had his way with me... cornering me and slicing me apart making his final cuts. Over and over. I was no match for that contraption. First time I encountered him he came barging through the doorway as I was about to walk through. Absolutely terrifying. Cutscene at the end when you beat it is a cool payoff too.
