The theme is in the aesthetic of the game. I was going for a classic 8-bit style while making it, where the main character is a pixelated umbrella catching little bits of rain here and there. Sure… it doesn’t follow the strict definition of the term bitwise, but considering how widely open-ended jam themes tend to be I figured this was the twist I’d add in my submission.

Heyo, I noticed the rules stated that source code must be provided. Would a link to a published GitHub repo suffice?

And if so, I was planning on using the raylib library for VSCode, but there were some default workspace and Makefile files that came with the setup, which I excluded from the repo. Is this okay, or do I need to include all these files as well?

I noticed that we are not allowed to use pre-made assets for the jam. I planned on making a 3D game with characters I made using a separate software. However, I need an external package to convert the software's unique file type so I can use them in Unity. Does this count, or is it okay to use?

Really liked the voice acting in this game, it was a fun listen. The visuals are also pretty stellar, though one thing I noticed was that as more potion bottles spawned around me, the more the game started to lag.

Still though, I enjoyed it - pretty chaotic :)

Only issue was the full screen... the game view kinda cut off around the edges.

Other than that,  this was simple yet very clever. I really enjoyed it :)

Thanks for the feedback! Perhaps in the next update, I'll make 100% friction the default. Though, I still wanna keep the other possible values for friction in there so that the player's ability to customize it whenever they want is preserved.

Also, glad you enjoyed the game overall! It really means a lot to me as a new developer :)

With a variety of different shapes used for enemies throughout, this game gives me some real World's Hardest Game and Geometry Dash vibes. Very addicting and well-crafted. Love the aesthetics and hope to see a mobile adaptation someday :)

Thanks! Yea, Contra is definitely a classic. I used to play it all the time with my friends whenever they came over on the weekends. Also, I'm all-ears when it comes to suggestions! Anything to make the game (and possibly other games I develop in the future) better :)

For anyone having troubles with the controls, I added a screenshot showcasing the basic guide for the game. Sorry for the confusion!

I didn't incorporate the standard enter/accept buttons in the game. Instead, I used the letters or Z in replacement for firing and going from scene to scene. Also, you can find the other button maps using the Guide on the title screen. Sorry, I didn't think to include them.
