Castling was in the first prototype, back then it created a big balance issue with the Russian Set specifically, and it was scrapped. After version 0.3 the gameplay changed completely and I think castling could be viable again. Unfortunately study, work and other projects have put a halt to many features I planned to include in next versions.

Being that pieces take more than one move to kill, en passant didn't fit too much with the design of the game. I thought of including it in some way, maybe specific to one Set or one Unique piece, but so far I haven't come up with a good design for it. Maybe in future versions if I keep updating the game.

Thanks! Ive tried to design the game so it can be played on phones. If anyone detects a problem with a certain resolution, or find the UI not adequate for phones, please let me know!

Hi, I have a game (developed in Unity for WebGL) that is played in the browser. When I update the game, the PlayerPrefs get erased (which in my game means that the preferences get reseted but also the progress from the single player campaign).

I did a little experiment, uploaded a new build of the game but kept the old. So when I play the new the Prefs are blank, but if I go back to the old one, the prefs are intact. So it seems that the prefs are linked to that specific file. I tried then just rewriting the old file (that is, upload the new one with the same name as the old one) but the Prefs got erased as well.

Is there a solution to this (uploading a new version but leaving PlayerPrefs intact)?

A Single Player Campaign has been released for the game "the Whole World is in Check"

Choose from 8 different armies, with unique pieces, stats and perks in this reimagining of chess with a tactical rpg style.

Battle with challenging foes, through 9 scenarios. And the first person to beat it will get the Last Scenario renamed after him!!!!

Good Luck!!!!

You are completely right. I would have to make a different build to have it working on Linux natively. Thanks!

World War Chess is a game based on regular Chess, but your pieces have HP and Attack stats. You can choose from 8 different armies, all with their unique perks and stats, and even some unique pieces.

This game is currently a demo, only allowing to play in the same browser against a friend or against very easy AIs.

Coming features include:

  • More AI difficulties
  • Lobby based and Online Multiplayer
  • Quality of Life improvements
  • Other changes based in suggestions and feedback

Hi!

I added a downloadable version of the latest build. Just unzip and play. I have only tested it on Windows, but it should work in Linux as well. Let me know if you had any kind of issue
