This looks very cool! It's reminds me a DOTCOM title called "Abuse" mixed with Metroid 2. 

Yes, it is! Some ingredients works as power ups for recipes and other need some preparations like be cutted to reveal the taste.

This game is wonderfull! Nice core loop, good and smple mechanics, challenger levels (that's better because there is random levels generated, but the level designs stills consistent, man, how did you do that??), stylish graphics and the sounds... wow, the sounds is amazing! 
I play this game every day in metro (I'm still trying to finish the run with the second character). Man, great work, honestly, you made a masterpiece.
