Yeah you're right lol. Didn't think through the physics engine tbh. For regular ground, you can only accelerate horizontally no matter what. On slopes and loops you always accelerate forward and gravity is disabled. I suspect that the best way to solve this is to always have forwards acceleration and animate the loops (which would have been a much simpler solution; 13-year-old spent wayyy too much time trying to get them to kind of quarter-function ). Also, acceleration to max velocity is too slow and there is too little friction, causing the weird siding. The lag is a problem with the unit web player (it does actually occur when you press the jump button because of weird garbage collection issues). Movement constraints and more fleshed-out systems would do good too. Perhaps I'll redo this game when I get the time.

lol what? If what you mean by momentum is acceleration in which velocity linearly increases until reaching a maximum velocity, yes it is and as I have already stated the freeze is an issue with WebGL and if you download the game. Doesn't matter though it's still a crap game lmao.

I'd love to rebuild this game with actual physics rather than my 7th grade understanding lol. Can't hate old me that much though because I did make this in two days. It's just kinda funny how so many people are being so toxic regarding a crappy fan game made by a literally 7th grader in two days. Does say a lot about the perceived anonymity of the internet and how it beckons excessive criticality of amateur art. As to your comment, I believe the half-the-level remark is slight hyperbole and also like go play Generations or any actually good game lol.

The download isn't giving me an exe file and when I convert it to .exe, it gives me an error. Am I doing something wrong?

yeah, i think in the games the loop is an animation. I tried to make it work with my custom physics system and it was very buggy lol.

Ey thanks. I realized in the original it's literally a different song because they couldn't afford to do music blending and stuff on the dreamcast. sorry about the cpu usage. Essentially I have an array that stores the homing attackable objects near you and that object should get garbage collected because it isn't a field. This is what happens in the windows build. However, in the web gl build, unity optimizes garbage collection so it doesn't happen in the Update function(creating and garbage collecting arrays every frame isn't super efficient). This causes a null reference exception when sonic jumps when there are no enemies around him and there previously were. I think I can fix this by making the array a field and wiping it at the end of every update. Let me check.

I'm 13, the "framerate drops"(they are actually freezes caused by null pointer exceptions) are a bug on the HTML build because of unity's optimized garbage collection for HTML5 and does not happen on the windows build. In Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 Sonic stops instantly when you let go of the stick. The game is meant to be played with a controller for 360 degrees of motion. There is a bounce attack precisely for precise platforming. The problems I have noticed come in the form of friction glitches and an exploitable homing attack. Tell me real problems.

you gotta angle yourself a bit in the direction of the loop and hold forward. It Is a bit tough to do. If you want you can jump and homing attack the spring at the end to skip it

It seems that the HTML build has a few odd bugs which are not programming mistakes on my end. The colors are much bluer than the standalone, the left stick is inverted for controllers, and garbage collection isn't working properly leading to a lag when homing attacking too many times. This is a unity 2020 problem and I sadly cannot do anything to fix it. I highly recommend downloading the Windows build

Thank you so much for the advice. The hitbox of the plane does not include the wings and playing the game, I do agree that the plane is too fast, and the sky limit I realize is useless as the game has rings around the map anyway. :)

Race For Two

I uploaded this racing game to itch.io about a month ago and released an update very recently. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to fix. I am working on an update fixing the shotty rotation and the fact that you can turn while you aren't moving or in the air. Other than that, tell me what to fix.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. I will make some sort of tutorial in the game and will give you the option the play with wasd and arrow keys.

I am working on a more optimized version of the game for the browser version as currently, the browser version has huge performance issues.

CONGRAJULATIONS 

whenever you jump, the game thinks that you are hitting a wall. if you are using raycasts, then the raycast is hitting the player. This allows the player to infinitely jump. Assign a layer for the ground and check the raycast with that layer.

Whenever you play on linux. The drift particle effect will not show up. I do not no why. It is quite a bizzare bug. This only happens on linux.
