Very cool and fun game! I am terrible at it of course and my strategies seem to fail at every turn but that makes it fun and replayable to see if I can get better! Atmosphere works perfectly with art, darkness, lantern, and music/SFX. Perfect Jam game!

Hopefully my comment didn't come out too grumpy sounding. I really enjoyed what you did! I think the game has serious replay factor. So far in game jams, my role has mainly been audio and I know how hard it can be to get a music file to play correctly in the context so I know the struggle! The silliness was definitely there and I thought it was a good reflection of the atmosphere. I think you did great overall!
Great mood and design here! I like that the weapons have limited usage as it gives more urgency to the situation while also encouraging strategic use. My one suggestion would be to maybe stagger how many crawlers and flowers appear at the beginning just to give the player a chance to get used to the environment and controls. I just felt like I barely got into the map before being besieged by the crawlers. Excellent sound design and FX on the different enemies and I love the artwork and character design too! Great work!
Like others said, this was a fun little platform and I appreciated the level of difficulty. I agree some checkpoints would be great to add just because it felt deflating to reach a certain height and then go back to the beginning when I fell on the spiky bits too much. Love the whimsical vibe. I enjoyed the individual elements of the soundtrack and the creative instrument sound choice, however I felt like maybe the melodic bit and the drum track didn't sync up perfectly so it felt a little disjointed. Or maybe that was the intention to fit the vibe? Honestly a game I'd enjoy playing more of if you develop it further.
I agree with the other comments about getting a few other options and mechanics in there but I also concur that this game is such a cool idea! The graphics and the music were on point and had the right type of retro feel. I know you can only get to so much during a game jam but I will give you a follow and hopefully you'll get to expand more upon this after the jam and I would definitely be interested in playing again!
This was an easy game to get into. I had to tap out at level 8 because I just couldn't get the timing right. Since there is 27 levels, that tells me you put a lot more effort into these puzzles and that is very cool! The vibe was pretty cool. I enjoyed the lo-fi-ness of the graphics and enjoyed the music and SFX. I was really happy to hear the "Yay!" every time I managed to figure out a puzzle. I applaud you for an excellent use of the theme and creating a fun cozy game!
I admittedly don't do well with first person games but I really enjoyed the imagery and vibe for this world you created. I can't say I was very successful at it but it made me want to keep playing and trying to figure it out! The heart animation was awesome and the falling screams are done well because they pierce the background ambience in a terrifying way. Excellent work!
I had a fun time playing this one. I was able to logically figure out where to go and I had a super difficult time with the boss so I deem it a success! My one suggestion would be adding more music and maybe an original organ piece for the beginning. However, I know the time crunch with these jams and like you said below, you needed to go for assets. But I feel this could be a cool idea to be developed into a bigger game and hopefully you will!
This was a very enjoyable experience to play! I think the music, SFX, and graphics work well together. The art style is really cool and loved the feel. Given how much work it took, take this next comment with a grain of salt, but my one suggestion might be to have the music looping in the case of longer battles as I encountered a couple battles where it ended mid-battle. As someone who struggles with getting music to loop correctly, I know it's a tall ask! But I really LOVED the music, it would be something I would enjoy listening to on loop.
I really enjoy the atmosphere of this one. I only wish I had a controller as I felt very unskilled with the keyboard controls to get my timing right so I didn't get very far. However, I enjoyed the concept immensely and I was really into the music and the subtle SFX. It really added to the overall feeling. Honestly, I just left it running for a bit without playing just to have soothing background music. Great job!
I really enjoyed this game. I'm always a sucker for jumping puzzles and I love how this game lulls you into a sort of complacency with the ease of the first few levels and then just goes way into the deep end when the dream gets weird. Very cool effect and I loved the way the music fit each aspect of the game!
Hello folks, I’m new here and looking to get involved with my first game jam as a composer/sound designer.
