Bump. Still searching.

(2 edits)

Hello everyone!

Few months ago, I joined a game jam. I came up with an interesting game for it. However, I was not able to finish it for many reasons, ranging from holidays and teammates going AFK without telling me anything.

Still, because I loved the idea / design behind it, I decided to make it a full game and expand it further.

The game is called Battlespace, and the game works as follows:

Firstly, the player has to collect items scattered around the various maps whilst either avoiding or defeating all the enemies. After that, they have to complete a minigame in which they rebuild the spaceship and fly away. Once in space, they have to navigate while avoiding obstacles and defeating the enemy spaceships; all whilst managing their resources.

The main assets have already been done and the remaining ones can be started. I'm searching for a 2D programmer who would like to develop this game for RevShare. Payment is done through PayPal and the RevShare percentage is around 25% ~ 40%. If you enjoyed working with us, we can make more games together.

If interested, contact me through my Discord:

Thanks, and have a great rest of your day!

Bumped the post (I specified a rate that we can offer for now)

Here, the term "Game" refers to the game project this DevLog is about.

About the Game...

The Game is called "Land of Southern Lights" (or just "LoSL" for short) and, hopefully, it shall become the first entry in a new series / IP called "The VESXEL Series" (or just "VESXELs" for short).

The Game is a [creature collector][semi turn-based] [RP] [open world] game. Here:

  • Creature Collector: The player is able to go around and collect creatures referred to as VESXELs.
  • Semi turn-based: At its core, the battle system follows the standard mechanics of turn-based games. However, the resolution phase differ as, instead of relying on dice rolls and RNG, the player has to actively avoid attacks; thus, turning luck-based elements into a skill-based sequences.
  • RP: The Game follows the standard tropes of roleplaying games. Its storyline is branched and deep; thus, able to make the player feel like they are living in LoSL's fictional universe.
  • Open World: The world map is extensive, filled with stuff to do, and has almost no restrictions. Players are able to play the game one day at the time.

The Game has two major target audiences:

  • Casual players who just want to sit back and enjoy the content (safe and non) at their own pace.
  • Hardcore players who want something challenging after years of playing games.

Here's what the game offers to the player:

  • Tons of new critters to collect and train.
  • A huge map filled with many Point of Interests (POI) and events / subquests to do.
  • A complex narrative that changes according to player decisions.
  • A new IP: new typing system, new moves, and so on.
  • A battle system tailored for players who enjoy a challenge.
  • Level of Difficulty tailored to please long-term players to keep the game challenging with level scaling and many type of strategies.
  • +18 scenes and interactions.
  • DLCs and continuous delivery even after the Game's official launch.

About deadlines:

The Game is a long-term project, with the deadline measured in years rather than months. This long deadline allows us, RSG Team, to ensure that:

  1. everything works as it should and, most important, as advertised,
  2. the Game looks and feels great to play,
  3. and the Game is fun to play and has almost infinite replayability.

But, most importantly, the long deadline also allows for the development to not be rushed nor taxing/stressing. We, RSG Team, are a really small indie development team composed of, mostly, a handful of volunteers who work on their free time. Because we don't have a huge budget, we gotta work with what we have. As the support grows, we can hire more personnel; thus, shipping more content with better quality.

~~~ # UPDATES # ~~~
Hi, I never received your Discord request. Did you sent it to the right account?
I edited the post to contain more details in a much cleaner way, and explained some common issues found in DMs.
Don't you have Discord or something? It's much more responsive than just email
Yes, but it seems low poly compared to the pixel art needed. a single sprite frame can range from 60x60 to 3000x3000
(1 edit)
I already have enough music composers, but voice actors might be needed. While most of the characters are female-sounding, there are few that are male. Still, I would need to hear more about you before making a decision.
Hello everyone!
I'm looking for SFX producers who are comfortable with working on long term projects. I have a six years development window so I have plenty of time to cook something amazing. Still, a test build is planned to release at the first week of April so we need someone to start working as soon as possible.
About the game...
The game project is a RPG that uses a combination of both pixel and digital art; thus, creating an interesting mixed artstyle. GUI, overworld sprites, and scenes are in pixel art while the rest is in digital art.
The game project features a battle system that combines mechanics of both POKÉMON (e.g., status, multiple movesets, turn-based, etc.) and Deltarune (e.g., avoid attack, timing, music sync, battle effects, etc.). I did this to make the game feel like POKÉMON but without relying on RNG; thus, your skill matters and level scaling is automatic.
About the role...
I need a SFX producer who is capable of making SFX of any kind. These include, but not limited to, GUI, overworld, battle attacks, and critter cries (like in POKÉMON). It would be great if they could also make battle songs as well, but that's not a requirement.
While I already have three fantastic music producers, I have no SFX designers. So, I'm searching for someone who is able to carry the SFX department.
Of course, the game is NSFW; it contains feral furry sex scenes that, despite not being integral to the core gameplay loop, they might not be suitable for everyone. And, NSFW SFX are also required.
About payment...
While we prioritize people who want to volunteer or RevShare, we also accept paid agreement. Payment is done through PayPal and the exact rates can be discussed in DMs. If interested, feel free to reply either here or to my Discord:
Hello everyone!
I'm looking for 2D artists who are comfortable with working on long-term projects. Because there is a six years development window, there is plenty of time to cook something amazing. Still, a test build is planned to release within the first week of April so we need someone to start working as soon as possible.
About the game...
The game project is a RPG that uses a combination of both pixel and digital art; thus, creating a mixed but interesting artstyle. Generally speaking, GUI, overworld sprites, and sex scenes are in pixel art while the rest is in digital art.
It also features a battle system that combines mechanics of both POKÉMON (e.g., status, multiple movesets, turn-based, etc.) and Deltarune (e.g., avoid attack, timing, music sync, battle effects, etc.). This is done for making the game feel like POKÉMON but without relying on RNG; thus, player's skills matters way more and level scaling is automatic.
About the role...
I need a "main" artist who is capable of making primarily spritesheets (pixel art) and character reference sheets (digital art) . If possible, it would be awesome if they could also make:
  • Backgrounds: digital and/or pixel art.
  • Items: digital and/or pixel art.
  • Animations: pixel art only.
These are not strict requirements, but it would be a nice skill to have; which would also require us to not hire other people and thus, fragmenting the budget even more.
Keep in mind that my friend is the lead artist. While they work for free, I'm searching for someone who is able to split their workload as they can't do everything. Still, the lead artist is able to handle everything the "main" artist cannot do.
About NSFW content...
The game is heavily NSFW as it contains, among other things, feral furry porn scenes. Despite this type of content is not integral to the core gameplay loop, they might not be suitable for all artists.
Since I received lot of DMs of artists who first said that they are comfortable with this type of content and then bailed out the next day or so, please DO NOT DM if you are not comfortable with drawing such content. It wastes both my time and yours.
To see if you can work with us, try to draw a NSFW version of Pikachu in details. If you can't, don't DM me, please.
About payment...
While I always accept volunteer or RevShare collaborations, I have only one spot for a main artist. The budget is limited so I'd like to not fragment it further. Payment is done through PayPal and the exact rates can be discussed in DMs. However, since a sprite sheet is composed of just five frames (two of which are usually duplicated), we would prefer rates on $12 per spritesheet.
However, due to recent DMs, I want to remind you that (for now) RSG is not a big indie game studio or corporation. We rely on the support of our generous Patreon members. Because I only have a fixed monthly budget to use for development, I have to bring out most of what I have.
90% of the team is either RevShare or volunteers so don't DM me expecting standard salary rates or similar. I also don't get paid and, to cover some expenses, I use my own hard money. As the support grows, I am able to raise the payment but, for now, you may have to bear slightly lower payments. The better your work is, the more likely people want to support my project.
If interested, feel free to reply either here or to my Discord:
Hello everyone, 2S here!
About Myself...
Some of you may already know me primarily as a game developer and backend engineer. My skills, however, go beyond that since I consider myself to be a fairly skilled writer.
I have been writing stuff since I was a little kid, and I'm no stranger when it comes to writing a wall of text. For example, a few years ago I rewrote almost the entirety of the Bible to create a version that fits the lore of my game projects, and currently I'm writing books about languages, sciences, and fantasy worlds.
One of the books I started to write a few years ago is called "Master Theorem of Magic" (or MTM for short), and it is a 120k words book that aims to standardize magic systems through a unified model using the scientific approach and logical reasoning.
My writing skills are wide and encompass a lot of fields, from scientific writing, to POV, or even custom styles. I have an uncanny ability to imagine myself as a specific character or in a specific world and write according to how I feel.
About My Availability...
Because my hands are already filled with coding and game design stuff, I would like to collaborate on other projects as a writer and/or worldbuilder during my spare time. I usually have two to three hours after dinner that I can solely dedicate to writing stuff.
I can write dialogues, backstories, and narrative pieces, as well as creating cultures, species, languages, and other worldbuilding aspects.
I don't have restrictions when it comes to accepting projects to join in (besides liking them, of course). I'm willing to try anything, from wholesome SFW to the most depraved NSFW stuff. I just want to work with someone on something.
As mentioned before, I'm in the EU and have a lot of projects going on. So, I won't be active every day. However, whatever little free time I have, I would love to help some teams out.
About Payment...
To be honest, I'm not specifically looking to be paid. Still, it would be highly appreciated to get something back beside credits and stuff. Options such as RevShare, Flat Rate, or whatever can be discussed. If your game project is for a game jam or non-profit, I have no problems working as a volunteer.
Regardless, I'd like to work with competent teams and/or promising game developers. If you lack clear vision or can't manage tasks correctly, I'm not the person for you.
And, while I can get over the use of AI with the purpose of prototyping or expressing your vision to me, I won't participate in game projects when AI is featured in the final product.
Thanks for listening. If interested, reply here or add me on Discord:
P.S.
I also do localization/translation between English, Italian, and my own constructed languages such as Gleixic or Vessent.
Hello, nice to meet you!
Few months ago I made a partial game for a game jam inspired by the old Atari game called Asteroids. Since it was for a game jam, it will be completely free and non commercial.
We have all the assets (from graphics to music). If you want to put your hands on it, contact me through Discord:
We are working on a POKÉMON-like game. Would you be interested in making new critter/NPC designs?
If you are, here's my Discord:
Hello, nice to meet you!
We have a large scale game that could benefit from a Japanese localization, especially since the game's native language shares a lot with Japanese.
If you want to collaborate on this, contact us through our Discord:
I'm looking for a co-programmer for a 2D NSFW monster collector RP game. The game is coded in the Go programming language (for now) using a custom game engine developed by me using SDL2 as a backend.
The game project features a lot of independent parts we refer to as modules. Because I filled with many other tasks, I need a programmer who can take the existing code and add features on top. Ideally, they should be able to handle low-level stuff since, in some cases, they might need to deal with individual bits.
So, if you are looking for:
  • Projects to further your portfolio.
  • Ways to test and/or refine your skills with complex projects.
  • Ways to learn something new and need projects to try.
  • Ways to help without excessive compensation.
And don't mind +18 content, let me know! Any help is welcome.
It has been a chaotic month for me (new people in, old people out, personal life, and stuff). Because of that, and my limited funds, I may not be able at all for programming duties and so, it will be RevShare. Once things have settled down, however, I'm able to give you a bit of payment to match your efforts. Still, for now, I just need someone to make everything necessary for the MVP and first test release.
If anything here has piqued your interest, feel free to contact me through my Discord:
dignoranza
Finally, if you enjoy working with me, you can become a permanent member of the team for future projects.
Have fun, and I wish you have a fantastic day.
Hello, we are making a game with an extensive story and many characters. It is an RPG game, if you want to discuss further, let me know. This is my Discord:
I'm looking for a sound designer and music producer for a NSFW monster collector RP game. The game's sound style is high-energy, melodic, and dubstep.
Because the project features complex scenarios, I'm searching for a dedicated sound designer who, not only makes the various background music that are needed for the game, but also helps making the battle sound effects and POKÉMON cries.
If you are looking for:
  • Projects to further your portfolio.
  • Ways to test and/or refine your skills with complex projects.
  • Ways to learn something new and need projects to try.
  • Ways to help without excessive compensation.
And don't mind +18 content, let me know! Any help is welcome.
Still, once things have settled down, I'm able to raise payment to match your efforts. I just need someone to make everything necessary for the MVP and first test release.
Payments are done through PayPal. Those who stick around 'till the game release will have access to RevShare as well.
I have to agree with JaffaSix. I have a game that is really close to completion (one or two months). May I ask what guarantees are provided?
Instead of using a sketchy external contract system, it would be better if you gave your support through their platforms. "Pass me your donation pages" sounds less sketchy than "Give me your game so I can fund you."
We do have a Patreon that you could join if you want to support us, there is no need to use external contract systems. And it is way more reliable and the result os the same. When you join the Discord community we have, you can state your demands.
Bump, still searching
Hi, we'd like to have you. We use a custom game engine, if this interests you, contact our main developer through their Discord:
Good evening,
We are working on a game engine built with the Go programming language. If you want to help with the physics engine or other systems, let us know.
- RSG
Hello, nice to meet you!
We are working on  a NSFW game and we need a writer, if you are up, contact our main developer at their Discord:
As the title says, we are looking for 2D pixel artists for our major project.
WARNING: The game contains NSFW content. Still, it does not feature gore, non-con, and anything illegal under EU laws.
We noticed that it is quite a challenge to find artists here who are comfortable with +18 content so... feel free to contact us if you feel like it.
About the game:
The game is called Land of Southern Lights (or LOSL for short) and it is a monster collectorturn-based RP game with two major target audiences:
  • Casual players who just want to sit back and enjoy the content (safe and non) at their own pace.
  • Veteran fans of POKÉMON who want something challenging.
This game is challenging and features a complex narrative with interesting game mechanics. Here are some of them:
  • Tons of new critters referred to as VEXELs.
  • A huge map filled with POI and things to do.
  • A complex narrative that changes depending on the player's actions.
  • A completely new typing system, new moves, and a battle system tailored for people who like challenges.
  • Level of difficulty specifically tailored to please long-term POKÉMON fans who are now veterans and would love to have another challenging game.
  • +18 scenes and interactions.
Because it is a long-term project (i.e., deadline measured in years instead of months), we hope to create a new IP called the VEXEL series. This long deadline allows us to ensure that:
  1. Everything works as it should and as advertised.
  2. The game looks and feels good to play.
  3. The game is fun to play and has infinite replayability.
It will also feature DLCs and other extra content.
Screenshots of the game:
Virex (flora / charge):
Starter (mineral / toxic):
Here's the current state of the game map: red areas are the major cities / POI of the game. Of course, there will be minor towns and POI all around the map.
Walking animation test:
What are we searching for?
As of now, we are searching for 2D pixel artists and 2D pixel animators who are comfortable at drawing at least one of the following things:
  • Overworld elements: town layouts, tilesets, overworld animations, etc.
  • UI elements: battle sprites, effects, items, text, etc.
  • PR materials: posters, artworks, promotional material, cover art, etc.
And, of course, comfortable at making +18 content. This does not mean you need to know how to make all of that yourself, but if your range of interests falls under one of the aforementioned roles, then we are happy to have you on-board.
So, if you are looking for:
  • Projects to further your portfolio.
  • Ways to test and/or refine your skills with complex projects.
  • Ways to learn something new and need projects to try.
  • Ways to help without excessive compensation.
And don't mind +18 content, let us know! Any help is welcome.
What about the payment?
As of now, we have a limited funds so we are searching for artists who are okay with RevShare options. The exact percentage can be discussed in private. Still, for jobs well done, we might require increase in work under other payment options.
Final notes
Payment is done through PayPal. So, don't request any payment option if you don't have it. If anything here has piqued your interest, feel free to contact our main developer through his Discord:
dignoranza
Lastly, if you enjoy working with us, you can become a permanent member of the team for future projects.
Have fun, and we wish you have a fantastic day.
Hello everyone, RSG here!
We are currently working on a model/animation system called SF: MAT (Stream Force: Model - Animation - Texture) for our videogame engine.
About MAT:
There are many software out there that one can use for making models, animations, and texture, and, as such, there is a big discrepancy between different tools and formats.
So, we decided to create a unified toolchain (and format) that achieves the following objectives:
  1. Handling the processes of making models, animations, and texture within a shared system and/or environment.
  2. Making the development of models, animations, and textures easier for both artists and creative alike.
  3. Working for both 2D and 3D games.
  4. Features interoperability with the software in the market. These includes, but not limited to, Blender, Cinema 4D, Aseprite, Flash (discontinued), and Unity/UE.
To make a software like this possible, we need help from all artists, from pixel and digital artists, animators, and 3D modelers. So, if you wish to help, let us know!
About the System:
The core system is neither a game nor a software. Instead, it is a library that is available under open-source license as a free-ware. However, because we want to create software that can be used to create models and animations (e.g., editors and viewers), it is possible to sell those for RevShare.
So, if you want to help us to make this system, contact our main developer at their Discord:
dignoranza
Not only is any help appreciated, but this toolchain might make your life easier when creating models, animations, and textures for future projects. However, because this system is universal, some help might involve with NSFW images or models. If you don't want to work with that, you can help with the SFW part of the system.
Current Progress:
Here's how model files look like for now: after defining the skeletal structure, one defines all the details about the bones and material files.
Here's how animation files look like for now: define what happens at each frame. Since both animations and models are relative, a single animation can be applied to multiple models as long as the bones affected by the animation are the same.
Once you have set everything, you can run a software that displays the animation.
