Thanks a lot and glad you liked the game! It’s always a pleasure to take part in your jams, they’re a great way to try new ideas!

Thanks :) Yeah, Pico-8 is super easy to get started with, it’s a really practical tool. I usually work on the spritesheet in Aseprite, but the built-in graphics editor does the job too. The code editor is pretty minimal (no auto-completion) but you can always use an external IDE if you prefer. I’m also curious to try out Picotron or TIC-80.

Clever concept! I really enjoyed the gameplay, having the paddle grow as you progress makes it very satisfying to play. I reached 23.

Thanks WZRD! It took me exactly 1 hour to make this game, the video was sped up 3x (to make it more enjoyable to watch). This gamejam is a great idea, I hope to participate in the next ones of course depending on my availability.

Edit: I replaced it with the real-time video, I think it’s better.

Thanks a lot! Super fun jam:)

Really clever concept that fits the limitation perfectly. The neural network training looks very well implemented. Great job!

I had a good time figuring out when the Darwins could start surviving, and I managed to reach the end (not sure exactly when the Ascend button appeared but I noticed it once everything was maxed out). The execution is well done. I might have added an explanation screen to show what the color bars represented, but it was also fun to figure it out as I played. Good job!

Really great job! Loved the feel and the atmosphere, especially the music. I spent about an hour on it, made it to the tower and pretty far, I’m already thinking about giving it another go.

A very interesting concept, I managed to win after my third game! :) Good job!

Thanks a lot! I’m really glad you liked the game and its look. And yep, the difficulty definitely kicks in after a bit.

Thanks for playing! and yes the Pico-8’s constraints can really bring to mind the GameBoy.

Smart concept, and it’s really addictive trying to find all the combinations. Well done!

Really fun to play, I enjoyed it!

The leveling system works really well. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for trying it out! 58% isn’t bad :)

Really enjoyed this puzzle game. The core concept is clever and well executed. I got stuck for a bit on level 3, but managed to finish it in the end. I also really liked the music. I would’ve loved a few more levels, great work!

Great job! Very nice art and smooth gameplay. The team’s work really shows.

Really good game! The presentation is clean and the concept is very solid. Including a leaderboard within the time limit is awesome. My favorite entry so far, personally.

I really enjoyed hunting down the different achievements. It’s fun, smooth to play, and the chill music adds a nice touch. I just wish there was a bit more content.

I really enjoyed playing the game. Very nice presentation. I liked the story, music, and the fair roguelike system. It would need maybe an animation transition when player dies or when you beat the boss, but overall it’s very good.

Thanks!

Thanks! You’re right about the sounds they need more work.

Thank you!

The challenge hits just the right balance. Really fun to play!

The art is great and it plays really well, congrats!

Great job! It just works, and it definitely leaves you wanting more!

Simple concept and excellently crafted!

I had planned to ramp up the speed to make it harder, but 60 minutes just flew by!

I’m glad I made it to the end, very good game (I can probably do a better time with training)

Hello, these assets inspired me to create a mini-game with. It can be played in the browser here.

It seems to me that in almost all levels it is possible to win without having to rotate the pieces, but I am not sure that is the case for all. In any case very good puzzle game with super chill soundtrack!

I can’t take a screenshot because at the time of the freeze, it makes me lose focus on the game window (and all the others explorer windows), and therefore the screenshot does not work. The precise moment of the freeze occurs when the image of Scarlet is in full screen (after the loading bar), at the moment when it begin to appear in low opacity.

The new version v0.03 has still the display problem on my system (this time, it freezes directly at title screen), but finally I found a way to fix it by launching it in Windows 8 compatibility mode.

For some strange reason I can’t play the downloadable game, the screen freezes after loading as soon as it starts. I hear the music and sounds (controls work too), what I can only do is refresh the display by doing alt-tab, but it freezes again immediately. I’m using an Nvidia Shield that streams locally, it must be because of that :/

Thank you for sharing. This is a very good collection, all the games I’ve tried so far have really good gameplay. Have you thought about adding gamepad compatibility? It would be a good addition, for my part I use joy2key to substitute the lack. Anyway congratulations

I loved this walk, it’s inspiring and the art is remarkable
