Interpolation Frame from 25 to 50 FPS but video bitrate decrease

Hi,

I am using DAIN-APP 0.39 to interpolate frame from 25 to 50 FPS ,    My input is video and resolution is 1920*1080.

1) In Frame Handling Options page, I choose "Mode 4: Static Record timestamps then remove duplicate frames(won't alter animation speed).  2) In Interpolation Options page, I choose Depth Awareness Mode as Real life or 3D: Media with clear depth perception; Interpolation Algorithm set as "Defalt: 2X/4X/8X: Less Memory, Slower; Cleaner Results".  Input FPS as 25 and Output FPS as 50.

3)Output Option Page,  keep CRF Value as default 17.

4)Misc Option Page, I set if FPS exceed 50 FPS interpolate down to FPS[Conf 1:Smooth].

5) Keep all other setting as default.

After performing all steps,  I fond the video frame has been interpolated to 50 Frame, but Video bitrate has decreased from 9456 kbps to 8823 kbps.

Question:

1) As video frame has been interpolated from 25 to 50 FPS, but video bitrate is decreased. Is it normal?  Any other settings can help me  keep frame interpolation from 25 to 50 FPS, but video bitrate also increase at the same time?  In my opinion, Increase video bitrate can improve video quality.  Maybe I set a wrong configutaion, please help point out.

2)Previously, In Frame Handling Options page, I choose Mode1 Default to interpolation from 25 to 50 FPS, when Render finished, i fond the frame of DAIN output video  is still 25 FPS, but the video play time change to double. I want to Interpolation frame from 25 to 50 and keep the video palying time as the same.  I don't know what's wrong for my setting.  Kindly need your help!

Thank you

Hi, CRF determines the bitrate. For more info refer to this https://slhck.info/video/2017/02/24/crf-guide.html

If you want a smooth result, I recommend to use MODE 3 in your case. This will allow your film to keep in sync and add only the missing frames.
