It was created using Godot Engine 4.5-dev2. To ensure compatibility, you’ll need to use that version of Godot.

Hello! Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in the game! But I’m sorry this game has been abandoned, and I actually in the process of transitioning to a newer game based on this. The source code for the new game is available at here. You’re welcome to use it as a demo in your custom console-like UI and add controller support, I would love to see it!
Wow, the game is really amazing and challenging!
It was a fun experience, I like the movement and jump controls. Very cute and amazing art, sound, and music, really creative use of metroidvania elements such as dashing, drilling, and hooking. Not to mention the collectable items with unique lore.
For almost an hour of gameplay, I managed to collect 2 gems. I have no idea where’s the last gem was.
The only complaint I have is the convoluted controls. The combination of hooks, dash, up-dash, pickaxe, and drill are amazing. But when you have to use them choreographically to reach certain places, that really gave me brain aneurysm, I can’t count how many times I pressed the wrong button when doing updash-hook-pickaxe-dash-drill, then fell to the pit. Not to mention the grappling hook had to be aimed at a pixel-perfect angle in order grab the purple block. But that is probably a skill issue from my side.
Overall, 9/10 - would buy on Steam
Thank you so much for playing!
I was doing illustrations before diving into gamedev, and this is my biggest project yet. You are definitely as capable or even more capable than me, I really love your character portrait for your first 3D entry for the jam (that quake-like/ultrakill-like one), and also the cover art for your jam entry is really amazing!
About the spider sprites, I kid you not they are made 1 hour before the deadline xD Before that, they just godot icon.svg floating around (including the boss)
Godot 4.5 stable is not released yet, but the upstream / dev version is already there ( https://godotengine.org/download/archive/4.5-dev5/ ). It really has some nice features with new useful signals such as get_tree().scene_changed (great for transition). I just stripped down its features, so the export size does not reach 30 MB.
Anyway, thank you for playing and for the feedback!
Ain’t no way…this feels like a proper Steam game. Really juicy with those particles, lighting, SFX, artstyle, vibe, and much more. I love that the level is procedural, really gives you a new sense of curiosity for what might lies ahead.
I ended up playing this for an hour, keep dying because of greed, keep retrying, got addicted, and then was able unlock all the abilities, only to get crushed by the door at the beginning because I picked up the bucket that is on the pressure plate while standing under the door lmao.
I yearn for the Steam release, 10/10.
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
The save point has a little bug, the restored health is not saved. You need to save twice to capture the full health. I agree that the placement of the jumping bug at the start of the desert cave seems a bit unfair (might as well to report them for spawn camping), it will be changed in the future!
