The original inspiration was "Egging on", but we also looked at "I Am Bread". If you climb where the screw was, under the fallen shelf, you can just fall down behind the mouse traps and go towards the stool. That part could've definitely been clearer, but you can check the playthrough video for a sort of guide

Thank you for playing!

Yeaaah, we found out about the game too late to pivot to a different idea, it was already 11 days in so we just stuck to it. It's pretty funny how similar it is without previously being aware of the game. I guess we could take that as a compliment  "^^

Super compelling, great atmosphere, very well done.

One little critique that comes from my personal preference: when pressing LMB don't have the text skip to the next line immediately, but have it show the whole line and then have the next LMB press go to the next line. I generally enjoy having the whole line on my screen when reading so I'd sometimes press LMB and accidentally skip the text, thankfully I could always repeat them

Other than that great job!

Thank you very much, and thank you for playing!

Cool take on the theme, reminds me a bit of the rocket jumping from old games like Quake and UT mixed with a bit of Portal. I could see it expanded with different objects having to be set up before you create a chain reaction of the character just getting blown up, sliced, spiked etc.

Would be nice if the time between retries was a bit shorter as now you first have to wait for the character to fall down, then respawn, fall on the ground and get up. This takes a bit too much time when you're just trying to go again

Overall a nice game, good job!

As I wrote to your friend, went back to beat it and enjoyed it thoroughly.

It's always Firefox creating problems, at some point the best fix is to ask people nicely to use any other browser :D

I did just go back to beat it and have to say it really is not the difficulty itself, it was just me :D I got the hang of it in the end, and now I want more

Thanks again, and thank you for the game!

Masterfully done, not much critique to give.

It just needs slightly more polish on the bullet visuals and hitboxes to get that perfect satisfying feel. Sometimes it felt like I should've either gotten hit or the bullet should've been parried but neither seemed to happen?

Also don't think the character should slow down while attacking but rather keep his momentum.

None of these really impact my score or enjoyment of the game.

The random bullets flying into the camera accentuating the invincibility of the character by making the camera more prone to damage was a great touch.

Great job!

P.S. I'm another data point in Firefox opening a menu on Shift + LMB

Super impressed by this game. Great art, audio, theme well incorporated, all-around a great experience.
Too bad I suck at these and my mind can't handle everything going on :')
Still definitelly among my top 5 in the jam.

P.S. This is not on you but you might want to know, on Firefox as soon as I press left mouse button the character starts flying down as if pulled by gravity

It's an interesting take on the theme and it's weirdly calming considering the narrative.

I do think the last line at the end was a bit on the nose as I feel it was pretty clear what you were trying to convey.
Otherwise the atmosphere is well done, I enjoyed it

Thank you very much, and we're sorry for the rage ^^

But no really, it ended up being harder than we intended even if it does fit the idea. In previous game jams we had trouble dialing in the difficulty because the game felt easy to us after replaying it so much. This one we knew it was harder than we really wanted but just didn't have the time to nail it down.

Glad you made it through!

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!

I'm guessing you were renovating and couldn't find a hammer :D
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you!

Enjoy your new drawing tablet lol

Lovely art, and kudos for doing a voice acted game for a game jam.

Interesting take on the genre, definitely see the potential in it.

Great art, audio, plays well, all-around fun game, great job!

Would like to see more variety in upgrades even if they are simpler like dmg+ or att speed increase, but at a quicker rate. It would make the bigger ability related ones more impactful as well.

Good luck in the jam!

Thank you for playing!

Thank you!

Yeah, a bit tough at the beginning while we got the movement down but once we did it was super fun to make the different challenges

Good luck to you too!

Thank you very much!

Thank you! Hope you enjoyed playing

Reminded me old CS deathrun maps, fun game, good movement, though jumping off a wall sometimes felt too strong, would probably make it more forward and less to the side, or maybe dependent on the look direction

Good job!

That's a good bait and switch. I do wish you had warned me before making my ears bleed lol

A bit too hard to protect yourself in the tight corridors, would also be good to have some assets spread around so you don't end up going in circles

A 3D parkour Pacman is a really nice idea

Not sure if there are multiple spawn points but the one in the middle you can just keep spawn killing them when you get the sword

Also having some kind of visual indicator of the enemy attack range would be nice. They seem to be moving in a grid pattern so showing that grid in the environment assets could be enough

Good job!

Ah, Quake of course, close enough :D

I wasn't aware how the retro style ladders worked, thanks for explaining. Yeah ladders are hard, I didn't mean it in a bad way I just got flashbacks of when I was a kid trying to climb them lol

Good luck to you too!

Thank you!

Thank you! The cracks almost didn't make it, thankfully they were not too complex to set up

Honestly don't think I've got even a little bit of critique, it's a great game, good idea, fun, clever, looks great.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if this wins, great job!

It's a fun game, the movement though reminds me of Half Life, being a bit slidy and the ladders well, they're even more slidy lol

Bonking the demons was very satisfying, almost more satisfying than the shotgun

Great job!

Well I got some of the characters right even if not in the right order lol

Ah the only potion I didn't take. Thanks for explaining, I've increased the score on it, but yeah it was a bit unclear

Mostly agree with others, better descriptions, more sound effects. Enemies get stuck on terrain sometimes which can help you cheese it a bit

Otherwise it's a good game, good job!

The 2nd level is a bit too hard, but I could see some interesting puzzle coming from the idea

Also modify the pitch of your repeating sounds so they get less tiring over time.

Good job!

Lovely art style, great audio, interesting mechanic.

One little critique if I had to give one is, I wish the enemies that can change attacks on a whim would have an effect when they do so (if they do and I'm blind disregard my comment then)

Great work!

Really nice art style and a solid idea, it's an interesting take on the incremental games. The main issue is the lack of variety—after about 5–10 minutes, it felt like the gameplay was just speeding up without introducing anything new. The audio and music are engaging though.

The art looks good and stands out nicely. It can be a bit hard to hit enemies at times, and the gameplay feels a bit empty overall. Adding more skeletons and giving them more varied behaviors—like throwing themselves in front of you or interacting in different ways—could make things more engaging. With a bit more variety and polish, it could become a much more dynamic experience.

Creative in its own way and fun to play. It has potential, especially with more puzzles and some improvements to the AI to better support the gameplay. Great job!

The art and audio is great, the ending is creative but I missed my code it went too fast :( It was F63** not sure if there's a way to retreive it. Fun game but I might be missing how the invincibility fits?

Overall I'd love to see a full game in this style just with deeper mechanics

Thank you very much!

Yeah the tape is a bit tough, it should be the easiest if you can get yourself upright and lean on the tape's case and then just go forward with the camera straight behind.

We planned on having difficulties with more and less checkpoints but didn't end up having the time for it unfortunately.

Also if you do return, your last checkpoint should be saved, good luck!

Nice touch with the procedural levels, that’s a really cool idea. It feels like there are quite a few features that aren’t fully finished though, so focusing on fewer ideas might help polish the experience more. For a game jam, the scope might be a bit too big, scaling it down could really make the core mechanics shine. Overall, great job!

Some of the power-ups aren’t very intuitive, I often found myself just going ham while playing. The controls also felt a bit off when switching into ball mode. It has good potential though, especially if expanded with more content and an environment that has a bigger impact on gameplay.

The art is good and looks nice overall. The game could use a bit more variety in combat though. Enemy encounters feel a bit random, having more consistent difficulty scaling, like harder waves or multiple enemies at once, could improve the experience. Godspeed!
