I personally do not have any games that have a donation prompt and all the games I have are free, but I'm wondering if having a donation option on fangames with copyrighted characters is legal and allowed on itch.io, as I know having paid games with copyrighted characters is liable.

I think he said that turbowarp is good, so I'd assume it's fine, because you only have to upload a project as a file.
