The condition would be that eg item1 opens door1 or item1 defeats enemy1. It would be that simple. This functionality will be enabled by boolean variables in the template file.

Just notised that when in itch.io the bottom of the editor (image URL input areas are not visible).There are no scroll bars visible. So far I found that pressing F11 two times seems to fix the issue. This appears only when run from itch.io page.

Thanks for your post.I'm glad this wakes up the creativity of people ;) I created this for teaching so this means I'm on the right track.

My goal is to keep this simple. More simple than eg bitsy.

Quick answer : I don't plan to have multiple rooms (but maybe extend the current grid with 2-3 hidden rooms). HP system : I want the fight system to be easy and simple and without the player dying or loosing and still thinking about how to do this.

I will create a devlog with thoughts about multi screen and HP/fight system .

The HP system is not implemented yet because I am still thinking on how it will work. I made a devlog with more information about this and to hear other opinions.

When I say light I mean software like  https://the-l0bster.itch.io/pocket-platformer , https://ledoux.itch.io/bitsy  and https://jukel.itch.io/vritsy. 

I don't want to make a proffesional looking game. I want something simple and usable by young kids. Also, the machines that I want to run it are usually core2duo PCs (that's why I want light software).

I have tried Pocket Platformer, Bitsy (and clones), VRItsy and some other game creation software that can run on a browser. They are all good but I'm looking for more alternatives.

Can you recommend  any other web-based game design software? 

-It must run on browser

-It should be written in HTML/JS/PHP so it can be hosted on an apache server (will be used in a LAN computer lab).

-it must not be heavy (eg Godot ,GDevelop are not light programs).

Very original idea! Fun game! For some reason folder browsing doesn't look logical to me. Eg. when I go back a folder sometimes it seems I am in a different folder.
