Not sure what you mean by "technically, most itch.io games don't have an associated copyright", since in most, if not all jurisdictions, copyright is automatic. So all games on itch would have copyright

Literally watched RealCivilEngineer play this earlier today, now I spotted it on the itch homepage :D

I use Bootcamp to run Windows on my mac because my mac has an intel processor: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/bootcamp-assistant/welcome/mac

You probably know this, but for the benefit of others, If you have Apple Silicon, you'll need something like Parallels https://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ or I believe VMWare Fusion is free https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/315638/download-and-install-vmwa...

No experience with either I'm afraid, since bootcamp works for me

Yes,  I think everyone in the UK is meant to be getting the "Content unavailable in your region" message on the game pages, since they don't seem to have strong age verification implemented yet. So the fact I got a regular weak age verification prompt seems like a bug to me

(1 edit)

I don't know what the laws are around the world, but in terms of what itch is currently doing, here's what I'm seeing It seems wherever you are in the world, if you're not logged in you'll now how to at least declare your age to see https://stawer.itch.io/lucky-paradox or https://stawer.itch.io/. This is what is looks like:

I don't get this if I'm logged in though. Not sure why, maybe they've decided my account is 18+ based on something (like buying games with a credit card perhaps,. It doesn't seem to be to do with purchases, because I don't get prompted for adult games I've not purchased either?)

However, in the UK, there's a slight discrepancy because I get something different when I go to https://stawer.itch.io/,  even when logged in, because on https://stawer.itch.io/  I get a message like this:

This seems like a bit of a bug to me, like I'd expect the "Content unavailable" message to also appear on the game page, but it currently just shows the age prompt.

This is all changing so rapidly though, because the "age prompt" feature didn't seem to be live when I originally commented. So I guess that means there could be more changes coming? (They at least need to implement a UK Online Safety Act compliant "strong verification" to allow content to be served in the UK again)

In addition to this, the UK's "Online Safety Act 2023" has come into full force, and now itch is restricting access to https://the-end-of-time.itch.io/ for UK users. The game's page is unaffected, for now...

As well as the payment processor stuff, itch is not restricting access to https://thearcadean.itch.io/ if you're in the UK due to the Online Safety Act. The game page seems unaffected though (for now?)

In addition to the payment processor stuff, itch is restricting access to https://dannyphoenix.itch.io/ in the UK due to the UK's Online Safety Act

Separate to the payment processor thing, I can't see https://stawer.itch.io/ in the UK anymore because itch is blocking it due to the UK's online safety act.

Not sure how itch is deciding which accounts to apply the restriction to

Is there any way to enable WASD movement controls?

I wrote a review, but since I have no followers, I'm also posting it here:

Ok, so I bought this at 39% off out of curiosity ($30.49) to try out on my Meta Quest 3, as I think it's the dev's most recent listing, and I really can't recommend it at that price, or any price to be honest.

The images on the game's page aren't representative of what you actually get, which is essentially a gallery of models in different poses in a virtual space. The models are decent, but the images on the listing seem more like renders from a 3d modelling tool than game imagery.

I probably spent a few minutes in each of the five versions, just seeing what I could do. Essentially it feels like a tech demo or way to show off these 3d models of different women. I liked the variety, but once you've looked, there isn't anything else to do. There's no game so to speak, and there's hardly any thing to interact with.

You can drag the models around by their head and they sort of hang from where you leave them, and there's some props you can grab but they don't really do much when you try and use them with the models. The models are mostly just there, a couple of them had some animations, but there didn't seem to be a way to pose them (beyond dragging them by the head) and you couldn't change up the animations.

Also, most of the APKs had augmented reality/passthrough, and no way to disable it, which made them kinda unusable for me at least.

I feel like there's some potential here, but as it stands the content and price point are totally mismatched. I'm sure the dev already knows this, based on comments on this and other listings, but doesn't seem to have done anything about that, and I'm not sure what to infer from that about their intentions.

I think if this was bundled up with a bunch of their other stuff for a few dollars, that'd represent some sort of value, but I see they've already got a sale bundle of 32 "games" that's currently $269.69 AFTER a 60% discount (usual price $681.26) and that's just absurd.

This review is only based on this game in its 5 parts, so I can't categorically say they're all like this, but I'm also in no hurry to spend more money to find out.

You need to look in all the boxes in the house, then speak to the mother again about it. There are boxes in the basement, so you also need to find the key to unlock the basement door.

As someone else mentioned, check the clock above the fireplace

Not seen that one before, but in my experience doing these commands (on the whole Game.app) seem to fix most things:

sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/Game.app

sudo chmod -R  777 /path/to/Game.app

and doing right-click "Open" twice (rather than doubleclicking on the icon)

Seems to be a permission thing, since it works after I do

sudo chmod -R  777 /path/to/game/

Not just this game, seems to be about half the games I've tried off itch recently

In addition to that, I've found I have to run these commands:

sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/game/

sudo chmod -R  777 /path/to/game/

On MacOS (version 12.6.3):

The application “Game.app” can’t be opened

even after running sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine on it

That's v0.2.4a
